I don't know why you guys are so worried about having an edge with modified tires and scaleless rigs for just second and third place trophies, cause I will be taking home the 1st place trophies in both the scale classes regardless of what rules are in place.

i think giving bonus points for running stock tires was a smart way to go about this...

I do think in the future we should look into a tire height class and not a wheel size class though

like lets say 4.25 and under is a class to replace 1.9

and 4.26 and over replaces the 2.2

even though current rules really don't restrict you from running a huge 1.9 in the 2.2 class (but they do hurt you because of not running oem tires)

No, both classes have limitations in tire height.

Quote:
The 1.9 scale class will be limited to all 1.9" rim sized rigs.

- All OEM 1.9" tires are legal, any modified tire can be no larger than 4.4"

The 2.2 scale class will be limited to 2.2" rim sized rigs.

- All 2.2" OEM tires are legal, any modified tire may only be 5.2" tall

I think running the RC4WD rubber is cool, but if someone is running cut & shut prolines, let em run. As far as the RC4WD rubber getting a handicap that is BS in my opinion.

Why is that? Don't tell me that in all your extensive tire testing you think RC4WD tires are as capable as Losi or Proline tires.

I voted or stock/uncut BUT...

What about siping? That is something many people do to 1:1 street driven tires.

You could run cut and modified tires, but if you want the bonus points it say the tires have to remain unmodified. Unmodified means right out of the package, no cutting, no siping, no sanding down, ect.

A tire that will bridge the gap between performance and scale realism will be on the market within 90 days. They should work very well for the scalers and the 2.2 class. I'm sure Proline has something up their sleeves as well. Feel free to chime in Griz.

Ya I knew that was the case but could I run my 2.2 tires on 1.9's in the 2.2 class?
I got 4.75 tall 1.9's for Billy that I really like the look of is all.

I would have allowed both if I could. Modified or cut tires should be allowed as long as they resemble a 1:1 tire you would actually see on the trails. Or what about hand out tires? They do it with stock motors at races.

Currently the rules say that 1.9 tires are limited to 4.4" tall.

Ya I knew that but I was wondering if I would be allowed to run my 1.9's in the 2.2 class. Just because I like the look of the tall tires and 1.9 tires.
But I think I'll just trow some 2.2's on it just keep from adding any more arguments.:-P
