I believe the plan is to do the same thing we did last year, we will be in groups of about 5 drivers, each group will start on a different course and the other drivers in the group will judge while you drive, each group will rotate through all of the courses, once the scores are added the top five will compete in a finals course.

will this be done in club groups or are ya doin a mixed type where ya take different driver's from clubs and mix em up to keep a more honest way of judging, not saying anyone's dishonest, but it would seem to be a bit more reliable way of judging to me! IMO
i'm just asking as this seems to be good and fast, and have drawbacks at the same time, as to inconsistity in courses and so on!
either way i'm stoked!

I was just watching the news, theres a huge storm coming in this weekend with sierra snow expected. This should make things alot more interesting. That being said, i think we all need to prepair for this.I think i am gonna start making snow chains for rc crawlers.

Yes the groups will consist of drivers from each club, the groups were chosen at random by the way drivers signed up for the finals.

I'm hoping for the best. It would suck to not even make it up there if it snows hard enough to mess up the road. Got no 4X4, just my little Corrola

There will be enough 4x4s, we will throw a chain on and tow you up if need be.

I think it would only snow at night. I doubt the daytime temps would allow any snow to stick. Anyone have a gas powered leaf blower in case it does?

I can't make it this weekend. I start back to work on Sunday so there won't be any activities for me prior to that. Good luck to all the drivers!

Sonora, CA -- At noon today both Highway 108 Sonora Pass and Highway 4 Ebbetts Pass will close.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the Sierra Nevada , so Caltrans has called for a preemptive closure to ensure motorists safety. Snow is expected to fall as low as 5,000 ft. later today, according to the National Weather Service.
Caltrans Spokesperson Chantel Miller says maintenance crews will reevaluate the closure on Thursday and determine if the passes can be reopened for the weekend.

Just thought I'd pass this along from my mother-in-law that lives up there. looks like pinecrest is due for a lot of rain, snow and thunderstorms too till sunday.

Well the last gate they close to go over the pass is past the comp spot so we'll be ok for that and as for the snow it shouldn't stick to much and yes there looks like theres going to be some rain but were still 25 miles past strawberry and pinecrest so anything could happen lol, This is going to be a blast
