I stand corrected. Most of the other guys I know that crawl rarely, if ever, mention anything good in that area.

Two suggestions off of I-80 just before the Soda Springs/Donner exit are Eagle Lakes Rd. exit or Cisco Grove exit.

The basic short wheeling run for "stock" 1:1 I like is to drive into Fordyce Lake via Cisco Grove exit.

The nearest serious trail is Fordyce Creek OHV trial:
Location: The trail begins near Eagle Lakes. Take Interstate 80 to Eagle Lakes Road. Follow Eagles lake road on the East bound side of freeway. Follow the Eagle Lakes signs about 3 miles from the Interstate and on your right hand side you will find the Fordyce Creek trail head. It should have a sign labeled OHV route. This trail is rated 10 of 10 for toughness.

Each course will be clearly marked with signage, competitors will receive T-shirts, winner will no doubt get a cool something; last time it was Mr. T necklaces, befopre that it was custon made trophies. And there will be tons of swag floating around with all the vendors/sponsors coming.

Look out for the 6' Pink Bunny, Wheely King Kid, the BPRCA Pimps and Hoes, Git-R-Dun Robots, and awesome raffles; all great things that the BPRCA has come up with to make the events fun and exciting.

If you don't have fun at this event, you are either an unhappy person or something has gone seriously wrong.
Thanx, Skeeno, for the kind words. I know without a doubt that this comp will be crazy..........
Those that don't know how the KING BLING and I do it.....WILL!!!!
Those that know....this is a can't miss comp.

Thanks to all that have pre-registered and a BIG SHOUT OUT to every sponser who has kicked down serious swag.

If your into r/c rock crawlin', this is an event that you don't want to miss

And I thought it was 10of10 cause you needed a snorkel. LOL.

I'm was meaning directly in the area. If things don't go well you could just head out to a spot. Might as well tell us about the Rubicon too.

As for the just drive around.........one tire off that logging road and I'm not in. I want kids to have a place to wheel when they grow up.

Hotels ?

Ouch! Spent 2.5 hours looking for hotels online most were sold out, and the rest were $$$ because the hotels are calling it a "Holiday Weekend"

What kind of rates are you guys getting?
Where?

Current reservation is a Holiday Inn Express in Truckee

You can try a hotel in Reno. Boomtown is the casino closest to the border...about 30-45 minutes to Donner Ski Ranch. Rooms were about $110 when I last checked.

The Inn at Truckee still has rooms for around $120 a night. Last time I was there, the rooms were nice and it's 10-15 min from the comp site.

I also think there is some rooms at the Boreal Inn. I always see it when
I'm snowmobiling at castle peak. Only one exit away!!

ANOTHER OPTION.

THIS IS A HUGE CABIN THAT CAN SLEEP 46 PEOPLE. FROM WHAT I KNOW IT IS OPEN AND AVAILABLE. IT IS LOCATED WITHIN 2 MINUTES OF THE COMP SITE. ONLY THING IS, YOU NEED A HUGE GROUP COMMITED FOR THE WEEKEND.

I live in Meadow Vista, in between Applegate and Weimar. And yes, it is about an hour, maybe a little more away.

Cool

For some reason that one is not showing up on Hotels.com, and some of the other searches.

I got the $125 per night rate which was a lot less $$$ than the Holiday Inn Express

Okay, boys and girls, we are three short weeks away from making r/c crawling history with this comp.

I hope your ready! Nor-Cal is bringing a great side dish of talent to the event.

CKRC sponsored drivers are serving a main dish of r/c rock rash w/ a dash of embarasment for those competing against them.

Watch out for all drivers coming out of the B.P.R.C.A. They all have an appetite for greatness.

The rest of you can bring a pot luck dish of your own, as long as the main ingredient is FUN.

I assure you there will be a endless buffet of FUN.

The event sponsors have served a sweet dish of swag desert for our crawling pleasure.

Frankie, baby, if anyone doesn't know about your impecable 2.2 skillz, I'll tell'em.

I hold your soley responsible for my 2.2 fetish.

Your presence @ this event was highly anticipated. Sorry you can't make this one, I'm sure Diesel will step it up and represent Vegas in true Diesel fashion

Next time we get a chance to crawl, I'll give ya a "how to drive" lesson free of charge...

I've pretty much done nothing but travel since going FT.

Was all stoked about competing too, even started rebuilding my rig.

Give'm hell.
