So now the new burning question is: Can I run one rig with the Nomadio transciever and one with the Spektrum? I know they require different modes, but is that switched via linked to a computer or can you do it on the fly? |

| I think you would just have to change from "transciever" to "DSS Beta"....that is done on the Tx, IIRC....

edit: it apparently will do the swap on the fly. As soon as I selected the second profile I got the beta screen. Last edited by Duuuuuuuude; 04-08-2010 at 09:20 PM.

Oh yeah, heres a nice little mod I did...you know the mini usb cable that is coiled up in the battery compartment? Its long enough to run up to the back of the radio where the little rectangular hole is. Its also small enough to fit in that hole. Some ca glue and a bit of epoxy will keep it in place. Why? Because its a PITA dealing with the radio, the cable, and the battery pack all at once. Now all you have to do is plug it in and not have to worry about your battery flopping around when you pick it up. |

| I just read that the Nomadio radio will work with Airtronics fhss recievers! Nomadio : 100mw fhss Airtronics: 100mw fhss Spektrum : 50mw dsss (less power and slower resolution, hence "da slow mode") |

BTW. Nomadio Transceivers will take up to 18 volts, I believe. I was doing the research before they shut the Nomadio forums down.

Looking around, the compatible Airtronics stuff is kinda pricey...but they all seemed to be 4 or more channels too, which most likey means they are for aircraft, which would also mean, as you mentioned, that they may not have a bec. I really don't see the need to spend the extra $ on a fhss rx for crawling though...sure you lose resolution by dropping down to the dsss, but I don't think you'd notice. I know for a fact that the Nomadio transcievers will handle at least 9v...by bec took a hit and went wide open...so EVERYTHING was running @ 9v...including my steering and dig servo's.

"The receiver is not equipped with BEC circuitry. Do not use more than 6.0 volts to power the receiver. Anything higher than 6.0 volts may damage or destroy the receiver. Only use a 4.8-6.0 volt battery pack or ESC that is designed to lower the voltage to this range. "

you'll need to switch models and the one with the spektrum you will have to change the reciever type and agree to use the beta programimg. If you don't change models it will stay on the reciever type but you'll still need to agree with the beta. If you go from the spektrum to nomadio and back to spektrum you will need to change the reciever type again. this is all done on the radio. anyone have a good use for the secret box on the reacts?
