Getting rid of that monster 20A Pro BEC is motivation enough. I love that I don't have issues anymore, but that thing is freaking huge and heavy. I can lose about an ounce by getting rid of it.

I'm not convinced that it is a LCC/RS issue. I smoked a new one in my CC01 on the work bench the other day. No wheels on the truck. No steering linkage hooked up. Just simply checking to make sure everything was working before going any further... Got the green light, check. Hit the winch servo spool in, then out, check. Wiggled the 645 steering servo, check. Blipped the throttle on the 65t. Let it sit there for a moment and watched the green light go out. Stock tamiya esc and KO FM rx.

He said "wench servo"..... Is that part of a FemBot??!!

Sorry, I will accept forum penalties...it's been a crappy week and my mind just "raced off" on that one. "Maybe" the mods here also have a warped sense of humor.......

So...back on topic.......I am not affected by this, but I am curious since 2 of us are running CC 10A BEC's. One is a Venom Creeper & I am running a Bully 2.2

LOL. I didnt even notice my phone auto corrected it to the wrong spelling. That is f'n funny. I truly think that it's a bad batch caused by a faulty component or a QC issue on the assembly line.

I had a similar issue a while back with an Axial rig. JR 9100T-Tekin FXR-40C 3S lipo and blown BEC's. I sent two servo's in for "repair", and on both of them they replaced the gears out of "The spirit of customer service". JR could not find anything wrong with them, other than they had been abused by rocks.

Both 9100T's came back and did the same exact thing, but the truck had been wired the same way for a year. Only one thing had changed... I rewired the BEC several different ways trying to get the thing to not "brownout" on me, but one of the CCBEC's died almost instantly, the second one worked for a few minutes, and the final solution for me was a BRXL.

My OG BEC is wired up to an LRP Runner + esc, and... to this day works flawlessly, even with a 7950 that's on it now in the scaler.

I'm leaning towards the servo's pulling more power than the new-ish BEC's can handle. My original BEC was bought from hobbytown here in Arlington, 2 or 3 years ago, and the more recent ones are from less than a year ago.

Actually, my son is over 2 years old now, so that puts the BEC at 3 years old. It still works.

Looks like they beefcaked the old one.

Interesting option eh?

Just dropped the order on one of these. .................

The Pro has been working great so far but gonna need to make some room on the rig soon so time to start looking for alternatives.

Interested in how this works out for you. I haven't had the courage to wire up one of the new 10A BEC's I have yet, especially after reading more from other guys. Castle is supposed to call me when they test the 3 bad ones I sent in, so I think I will wait a little while. The 20A Pro is a monster, but at least I can count on it every week.

Should have it this week but might wait a bit to wire it up. Im in 2 series right now, tied for first in one and missed the win over an XR by one point yesterday.

Ill post up pics though when it comes in.

Well got the bec yesterday and uhm its HUGE!

Didnt take any pictures but lets just say it would take up the whole rear section.

Plus it only takes 2S max input per the directions.

Oh well Pro is staying for now.

Just found this thread. I have burnt up two cc bec's since I got my XR-10 a month ago. Novak M-2, Hitec 7955, 3 cell lipo. I wired up the first one thru the reciever and the second directly to the servo.

The three year old cc bec in my AX-10 has never givin me a problem.

Sounds like same issue everyone else had. Steering was a lil glitchy then gone.....

Damn... you really did take one for the team. That sucks there is no real alternative to the 10a CC BEC. We had a hobby "expo" locally a week or two ago and there were a few vendors/distributors that were selling some imported electronics and I asked all of them for a BEC source. The only ones I saw were a 2s max input 3-5a max output and they were about twice the size of a 10a CC unit. None of them had anything available in a size we could use that would handle the input voltage and amp draw we need.

asw27x & I both have "fairly new" (bought around Christmas from Tower Hobbies) 10A CC BEC's on 3S, both have some time on them with no issues....thus far.
I'm running a HiTec 7955 on it, directly powering the servo, asw27x is running a similar servo also on 3S direct wired.

Just figured I would let people know not all CC BEC's are blowing up.
