Default fxr question

ordered a 27 turn handwound HH motor and an FXR for my dingo kit. after i ordered it i read that the FXR is 3s compatable with 35 turn or higher motor but has anyone ran a 27 turn on 3s with one. will it blow up. i guess i could run 2s but i really want to run 3s. thanks

depending on the kind of load you put through the motor you should be ok. if you were putting this in a 2.2 crawler I would say no (for a couple reasons actually) but if you take care of the system and know what you're doing it wil do fine. If you are rough on your stuff then i would order a 35T, at least as back-up.

You will come up to a rock (small rock) & it wont even crawl it

i dont see why it cant handle it. if moa ppl like myself can put 2 hw 35t's on 1 fxr running 3s, why wouldnt it be able to do 1 27t. if u had glitching it may have been from something else.

where did you read that? I just checked the specs that came with my FXR and it says you can go as low as 12t on a 2s but nothing about a 35t. maybe im missing it, but ive been running my HH27t with my FXR without issues for months.

You shouldn't have problem with 27t motor on 3s. Just watch the temps of both the motor and esc. I would suggest gearing down, will lose little wheelspeed, but will help keep the motor and esc cooler.

I did run 21t 550, fxr with bigger cap on 4s for while.

Takins website
3S Lipo compatible when used with 35T or higher motor
Tekin - FX Pro Brushed ESC Series

I guess it doesn't say it wont work

I tryed it and it acted funny like the battery was dead (fresh 2S battery) I put my other 35t back in it and it runs great to this day :-/
maybe I'll try it with a newer fxr, the one I tryed it with was one of my original fxr's, from 2009
