| Servo Noise Please Help.
Curious if my servo should be making this noise. I do not want it to burn up. Was using traxxas waterproof servo. Then went to hi-tech hs-7954sh. Tried resetting end points didnt help.. Any suggestions? Also it is a brand new servo. servo noise - YouTube |

Yea, that is the servo making small corrections very quickly to be in the most accurate position that it can. Its normal with digital servos, some are louder than others.

My 7954sh made the same noise in neutral position and would get warm fast just sittin there, one day it just stopped working. I sent it back they fixed it and it just crapped out again yesterday. All in less than a year. I personally think the7954 sh is garbage.. I also have a 7950 th and i love it. .. I can understand having some digital noise but seriously!!!!!

The 7954sh is an ok servo but is not for a bashing rig and better suited to a budget build for a strictly crawler application IMO. If you want a Hitec that will last through abuse and have more then enough power for most then get the 7950tg.

Sounds quite normal.. I had 7954 over an year on my sportman-AX, this summer it started to show weakness in a comp. Worked smoothly but lacked in power.. Replaced it with 7950TH. Now that I come to think of it.. These Hitec`s can be programmed with HPP-21.. wonder if setting the dead band widht wider would help for this jitter.. Deadband setting in radio wouldnt do the trick... |

My 7950 makes the same noise! I checked HT's website - their suggestion, loosen the screws holding the servo. ???? Are they nuts? So did a little experiment and what do you know, it does stop humming when you back off the screws - holding the servo in place. Not really practical when you're crawling, bashing. Really any type of RC application. So I guess I just have to live with the humm? I will monitor the servo's temps along with the engine temps.
