| Hitec 5955tg
I just was given A Hitec 5955tg servo, and when I tested it, it has full travel one direction, but very little the other. Could it be programed like this? If so how can I reset it to factory setting? Thanks for any input.

Why do you say it has a ton of travel in one direction but not the other? Yes, it may have been programmed that way (not sure why), but it can be returned to stock. Fill us in, then we can help some. |

When it is powered up it has full travel in one direction i.e.(right turn) then when you turn left it has about half the travel. Its not the controller it acts the same with 3 different ones.

OK, stupid question........ how did you set the servo arm???? It's easy to use an existing set-up but not center it to your situation. That is where I would start. Pick a point and then see how far it travels in each direction, I will guess it goes the same each way. But, the arm is NOT centered giving the impression you see. |

It's not a question if it travels more one direction,(it does indeed) but a question of is it programed this way and if so how do you set it back to factory. Or maybe it has a stripped gear? will have to pull it apart.

I think that servo is a 180, instead of 90 like the rest.

I just had the same ting happen to me and i did exactly what Charlie said. I pulled the horn off and put it in the center of the servo travel and all is well.

I had one like this that someone had programmed for a Nitro throttle and brake set up. I found someone with a Hitec programmer to reset everything for me, all was well after that.

That servo from the factory is set for 180 degree rotation but lots of people have them programmed to do 90 degrees like a regular servo. Anyway, you'll need someone with a programmer to reset it to default. There's also response time and a few other things you can program.
