Default Burning up lipos

I have a tekin rs esc hooked up to a reedy 17.5 and running a hh1000 2s 35c lipo. The lipo and motor are getting hot immediately. I have a cc bec hooked up to the reciever and the red wire pulled on the esc going into the reciever. Any suggestions

I plan on doing 87/ 14 but this is just bench testing. No tranny hooked up or nothing just as you see in the pic

Are you sure that motor doesn't need new bearings? It looks beat.

Also, are you running any timing, boost, or turbo in the esc? That output of that battery is small. It may not be providing enough power. Does the bec get hot, too?

This is the setup I pulled out of my b4. I was running stock so no boost and no timing. The only thing I added was the bec because I was going to run it in my wraith

Seems it would be a motor issue, more than likely bearing. Umm that's a Novak motor in the pic not a Reedy.

Yes it is a novak. The reedy was getting to hot to keep testing. Was going to try a 1300 3s or should I just stick with my buggy setup and run a 5000 2s

So it's running hot on both motors? I've run Novak and Reedy never had any issues and I run 2&3s 2200 li-po with 25-30c. I've not had luck with Tekin... I've burned up 2 FX-R's. so only thing I can think is hook your RS up to a hot wire and reset.

Just bench testing to make sure everything works before putting into the wraith. Having issues updating the hotwire. Trying to follow tekins instructions.

What battery did you run in the b4? The amperage and the c rating determines how much power the battery is able to supply. 1Ah at 30c "should" supply 30 amps. That rs will be trying to deliver many more amps than that and will heat up trying to do so.

That and I would run 3s, more volts and gear down. Your wiring appears to have at least 3 sections of tape and/or shrinkwrap over repairs, maybe the repairs are insufficient. I run Turnigy 1300mah 3s1p 20c lipo with FXR and Titan 21T or Integy 45T 540 motors and gearing from 14/87 in honcho up to 14/56 in Wraith with no heat problems in 100F outside temps.
