On the GT3C, you can upgrade the firmware to have up to 8 channels.

You will need a new receiver though for more than 3 channels
(The GT3C is the transmitter, the little box stuff plugs into is the receiver)

You can see in the last picture there is an area that DOESN'T have the coating. Which seems epoxy like in texture. I waterproofed 2 of these same RX's few months back and they came WITHOUT the coating. I sprayed them with white PlastiDip and One didn't end up working. Could've came that way I didnt check before hand.

So before I dunk these new RX's---

I was wondering if it is actually waterproof?

If the area that ISN'T matters. I assume that is why the last one failed on me because I just coated the whole board.

Hope all that makes sense.
I'm not sure, i haven't tested their waterproofness...you could always dunk it and find out. (But don't use clean water, get really filthy, dirty, muddy, water...clean water isn't conductive and generally won't ruin electronics, in the past water was used to clean circuit boards and some assembly houses still do use water)

Think GT3C, full LCD, telemetry, affordable rx's, decent latency, bluetooth, 8 channels, an overkill amount of functions.

Reasons its not even in the works? Expensive, I have no free time, I want to learn more before i start so it can be better, etc.

How do you guys feel about the extremely low spring tension on the less expensive and even some of the more expensive transmitters? There's not enough feedback for me to maintain precise throttle control. Some also have weak steering springs. Had to add extra springs to the trigger on a Dx3c I got for the model memory to run multiple Losi Micro Crawlers with. Got tired of doing all the factory controllers. The 4pl has adjustable tension that is almost strong enough. In years past I always had the stick tension maxed out on airplane transmitters for the tactile feedback.

Ordered a GT3C today. I do plan on hacking it for more model memmory and 3 step DIG servo control. I also would like to set the EPA to not stress my Axial universal drive shafts.

Nice - however, you don't need the hack to set your EPA's

Here is what I need my radio to do extra from normal functions:

1. Run a winch.

2. turn lights on and off.

Which radio would best fit my needs?

Lights on and off would be a two position switch. I don't know about the winch.

I purchased GT3C and am very pleased.

I currently have the third channel as a two position switch. First touch shifts the dig from 4WD to FWD with locked rears. The second touch shifts it back to 4WD.

I've got a lot of radios but always like the FlySky FS-GT3c. It's light and the battery lasts forever. I have a Spektrum DX3R Pro and it's nice, but I like the FlySky better. I tried some Futaba radios in the past and they feel great and have excellent build quality, but I just like the FS-GT3c better.

Just purchased the GT3c for my TF2. Got the gray one and the power switch was relocated underneath the steering wheel handle. Got it this way. I am very pleased, love it. well worth the price, and to say the RX are cheap. Not needing the hack one in the near future. It serves purpose to my needs as of now.

I'm just about to buy an MOA crawler with dual escs and the gt3c really seems to be an affordable option. Overkill has been out for over a month, and the hack kit is back ordered. I don't mind doing the work myself, but I'd really like to get rolling ASAP. Can I at least go from 4wd to front wheel drive without the mod? Is it tricky to program? If not, can I mix throttle on to ch3, to at least be able to drive? Does anyone in the Dallas area do the mod?
I have never had a dig or MOA setup so please excuse my lack of knowledge, and thank you for yours!
Thanks!
