How is the bec weird? Directly to the servo or through the receiver? If through the receiver did you pull the power wire from the esc plug that goes into the receiver?

How do I wire it direct when I have two servos? One steering and one shifting

I believe both power wires would go to the BEC.

I would try it with the shift servo temporarily disconnected....wire the steering servo direct....or just try it normal with the shift servo unhooked....

What is the ccbec voltage set to? I just had the same problem and increased the voltage from 6.0 volts to 6.5 volts and that solved the problem with the servo.
