Default Radio to run winch

I was wondering about a good cheap radio for running my truck and winch, I was looking at the flysky gt3c but I think I read that the 3rd channel switch won't work for a winch, so will it or is there another option?

It will work, if you get it hacked.

Heyok has a wireless winch controller if you don't want to buy a new radio. He also has a controller that works with a 2 position switch.

HeyOK's RC Electronics items (all in one place)

Heyok's winch and light controllers work great and i have them on my rigs.

It will work but it's not optimal. I got mine to control a winch, by adjusting the endpoints and using the trim to operate it. Once you get it set correctly its not too bad. You have to watch out for line creep. I'm going to get the heyok controller for simplicity sake o e of theses days.

Sounds like you found it, but here is the link in case anyone else is looking:
Wireless Winch Controller

I also make the wireless controller complete with a servo winch:
Ready Winch

This controller will let you operate a winch from a two position channel. Sure, it isn't as convenient as using a three position channel, but it works.

Well expect an order this weekend on your web store, as soon as the funds clear on a deal I just did, as far as I can see rpp doesn't have the wireless controller, just the two and three position controllers, guess that's why I couldn't find it.

HeyOK makes a good winch controller. But I would recommend flashing your radio with a new firmware to get 8 fully programmable channels (So you can setup one of the switches to be 3 postion). AND get a 3 postion winch controller from heyOK

Flashing the firmware will give you the flexibility in the future to add more cool stuff to your truck. Lights, second winch, multi speed transmissions, 4ws, etc. And running heyOK's 3 postion winch controller will save you alittle bit of room in your truck and you don't have to carry around another smaller winch remote.

Here's the firmware diy kit if you're interested
