Default 4PLS + R2106GF Throttle Issue

I recently upgraded to a 4PLS. I've been using the stock RX that comes with it in my 1.9 rig and it's been great. I ordered 2 of the Futaba R2106GF RX to stick in my Wraith and my Slash. After trying to install the new RX in both trucks I'm having a throttle problem. Both RX will bind. Both RX power on and the ESC fire up normally. (tried it with 2 different AE-2 and a MM). I get no throttle response from either RX hooked to either ESC. The lights on the ESCs all look like the throttle input is being received, green for forward, switches to red when thrown in reverse. I've tested all 3 ESCs I've been using with the other Futaba RX and they all work fine. I also tested all 3 with the crappy stock axial RX/TX combo and they all worked fine. I've checked all the settings on the TX, I've searched all over the internet, and I've read the manual section on throttle several times. Nothing I've tried seems to work. I can't get the actual motors to spin, and yes, I tried all 3 ESC combos with other motors and everything is working. It's 100% something to do with the TX I'm guessing and some dumb setting more than likely. The only thing on the internet I could find was a thread describing the same issue but the OP magically solved the issue and never posted how. Any help or direction appreciated...

I'll add that the servos and steering function perfectly in every setup while the throttle is having this issue. It's clear the RX is getting input from the TX and relaying it.

If you go to throttle settings what are they set to?

You could try reversing your throttle happened to me on a few.

Pics of all the settings. I have the throttle reversed already. You almost always have to reverse it with Futaba stuff. That wouldn't be causing the issue I'm having anyway.

I have the older 4pl but your settings seem the same do both escs and motors work with different TX and rx? Only time I have not had drive but the lights worked was if the esc was set to the wrong motor type. Are they both brushed motors and do you get sounds from them?

I don't know if this will pertain with w/ FHSS but, I have a 4PKS-R and had the same issue while building my bomber (no go on throttle or reverse and no steering but was still able to bind). There might be a setting that could change the wawy the TX transmits the signal. I just simply switch from C2 to C1. Apparently some futaba RX's on work with certain signals. hopefully this can somewhat steer you in the right direction.

P.S. This might be a long shot but are you sure the switch is on power and display? I've done it myself a couple of times

Update: I just went over the manual and yes the FHSS does have the same thing like FASST (FHSS High) or (FHSS Norm). Go to page 29 of your manual.

I tried it on S-FH (HIGH) and S-FH (NORM). It will bind with either and the servos work with either but have the same lack of motor response. That was one of the first settings I tried to mess with to solve the problem. The ESCs are responding to throttle input based on the LED feedback so I know the ESC is getting some kind of signal. The motors just won't turn.

The FASST RX I have works perfectly with no issues on all the setups I tested it in. It's just these S-FHSS RX that are both doing the same thing. That and the fact I know the ESCs are getting throttle information are the reason I think it's a TX setting I'm missing.

Do the motors make the chimes when you power the esc up?
Also what channel do you have the esc connected to?

The ESCs go through the startup chimes. All correct. The motors I tested were two Axial brushed motors and a CC 4300kv Brushless.

Played with it again for a minute tonight. Still can't make any sense of what the issue is. I'm almost ready to just order two of the FASST RX that I know work. Just makes me crazy because I know these S-FHSS R2106GF RX should absolutely work.

I use the 4PLS with a few R2104GFs.
What I notice is different on my RX MODE display is that mine reads FHSS instead of S-FH (NORM).

Maybe if you change that setting, then maybe rebind, it will work for you.

What fasst receiver works with the 4pls? I know my 4px can run both but i didn't think the 4pl could. Why not just get a r2104gf or r204gf-e? Also what channel are you hooking the esc to.

Tried that. Same results. Tried to re-bind on every FHSS setting and got the same issues.

I meant T-FHSS instead of S-FHSS not FASST. My bad. ESC is in channel 2 as it should be. I'm new to Futaba so I got the versions mixed up. I used to run Spektrum sticks the last time I was in this hobby so going to a pistol Futaba is like starting over again.

I went with the R2106GF over the R2104GF because its smaller and $15 less per RX. Lots of guys run the R2106GF with no issue which is why I ordered them. Considering both RX are S-FHSS I'm not sure why the results would be any different but at this point I'm about to order two of the R2104GF because I'd like to take 3 rigs camping this weekend and not have to switch one RX around in all of them or bring multiple TX. That's why I spent a pile of money on a 4PLS in the first place.

You got me on this one. It should work but i have never used this receiver so im not sure whats going on. Is the light on the rx solid green? In the manual for the rx i see it says channel 3 is for the esc maybe try to move and set it up to that channel. Im really not sure it matters but worth a shot.

I didn't see that in the manual. I'll definitely give that a shot. The ESC green light flashes and then flips to red flashing if you hit reverse.

Well, I fixed the damn thing. ESC in channel 2. RX mode S-FHS (High). Ended up playing with the throttle sub trim and after turning it all the way up to 100% the ESC came alive (and my truck drove off the table, rookie mistake lol). All the throttle / braking / reverse functions seem to be completely working. I haven't had a chance to try the second RX yet but hopefully the same settings work. Thanks for playing along...
