Have you ever deal with HK for a warranty claim?

I got my EVO P2. Did everybody else's come with the servo "loose"
inside the plastic box?

Here are my initial impressions from my Ascender thread.

The cons: The packaging isn't protective at all. The servo is free to fly around inside the box.

The servo wire is short for an Ascender. For most trucks it should be fine.

The splines are 25T/Futaba, but my Yokomo servo horn is very loose on it. The same horn fits perfectly on the Turnigy servo that was installed before this one. That's my biggest concern at this point.

Looks great, nice tight fit with an axial horn

Jato is correct on lack of packaging.

Also correct on length of lead..... short but manageable with the bec.
Tried it at 6v, then upped it to 7.4
Wowsers, quick and quiet !
Not as nice as my ProModeler, but very serviceable for the cost.
Does not have the little ridge between the mount holes, so did not install the vanquish servo clamps .

Odd. My servo horn was loose as a goose. It's not a clamping style horn, but like I said, it was tight on the Turnigy servo.

Yes, mine came "loose" with no snazzy foam. But the price was right! Also, AlturnUSA (which is a tawianese company) makes the Trackstar servos (and the EVO). That ebay seller says he is the "primary usa distributor" of Alturn, gives a 60 day warranty and you dont have to pay or wait weeks for shipping. So i chose him over hobbyking.

Alturn does say they provide 1 year warranty on some of their products, but i cant find any specifics on this servo and what it takes to get serviced.

Plumbers tape to fill the gaps..... Have you or anyone try using that tape to fill the gap?

Evo p2 digital brushless servo | DSPro LLC
Thanks for the link! I see that same site has the ABDS-996HTG for $30 which looks interesting.

I just watched a YouTube review on the evo p2. One of the comments said that the servos are flawed and you need to shim one of the gears with a flat washer to get proper gear contact. Has anyone opened one up to see how the gears look?

Did they test multiples or just one and come up with that conclusion?

We are getting some good reports on this very thread by members here...

There's always the chance a couple were assembled incorrectly.

Maybe a link to that video ?

(Edit) I just watched Jammin's 2 videos and he didn't have the issue - only that comment on the thread that claimed that it happened to them.

Jammin's been running a couple for over a month and a half, but not on crawlers.

https://youtu.be/9VQgCORMgbg

Nothing bad to report - tad bit louder than a $150 Futaba - lower pitched sound, though - which I prefer compared to the screech from the Futaba.

I bumped mine up to 8 volts.
Very quick and gets me out of holes I used to die in. Great torque, not as well built as the PM, but 1/2 price

They sound like a great bang for the buck. I have dug up other reviews on different forums and they have been positive, no mention of gear misalignment issues.
