| QUICRUN Fusion longevity
I'm looking to get a QUICRUN Fusion 1800kv motor/esc combo. Anyone have one that can tell me how it works and what kind of life it has?

If your talking about battery life then its better then a comparable speed brushed motor. Generally speaking more power = less runtime, but brushless is more efficient.

| Re: QUICRUN Fusion longevity I'm actually talking the life of the moto/esc. I drive a lot in the warmer months and I don't want to get halfway through the summer and have to change everything because one or the other craps the bed.

I've been running the 1800kv Fusion in one of my rigs for a couple months now with zero issues. I've run nothing but brushed motors on my crawlers until the Fusion, but so far I'm VERY impressed with the Fusion system and would definitely by it again.

A brushless system should last many years, provided it doesn't overheat.

They haven't been out long enough to say much. But brushless motors if taken care of can last a very long time, as in decades. If you over heat them, that can change to seconds or minutes. Just maintain them, replace bearings and add grease when necessary.

Especially at typical crawler speeds... I remember thrashing the heck out of an old Novak SS series in multiple fast off-road vehicles - I kept moving it around trying to find my favorite chassis for it - held up like a champ! I'd still have it if it wasn't for an apartment fire... |
