Here's a short video I shot showing the coging and comparing the sound vs a setup using a SW4 ESC

Coging is definitely worse with no load on it

That's not cogging, it's stepping, very different thing. The motor is basically being told the rotate x degrees and stop, repeatedly.

So I assume then, mine is “stepping” as well? Is this from the pulse transmission of the radio or is it a setting to adjust in the esc? Providing esc programming comes reasonably soon…

Lou
it is from the esc, not the transmitter, and I doubt it will be adjustable, removing that jitter will most likely throw the esc temps through the roof.

RTR (wired and waterproofed) version coming soon!

https://holmeshobbies.com/electronic...-esc-1242.html

Per the site:

ESC with all wires installed
XT60 power plug with JST power tap
Motor wires with 4mm female bullets
3 way JST splitter for your direct power servo, LED lights, BEC, etc..

And:

2200kv limit 14 pole (Revolver), 2500kv limit 10 pole outrunner (Revolver 10p), 2700kv limit 6 pole and 4 pole (Crawlmaster BL, 6 shooter and Puller Pro)

I am very stoked about this, as my soldering skills are near non-existent (got the old guy shakes thing creeping up on me) - and I have a NIB Revolver 2200kv v2 waiting to go in a rig.

Probably my Enduro re-build, re-body, and upgrade...

While that's good to hear, it seems no one bothered to post about it and list the details.

Just trying to continue adding information to the forum...

Well I can say signing up to get notified when the product comes back in stock is worthless. I only know another batch was out from my friends, who aren’t on here, that saw it on social media which I do not have. It’s not the first time and I’ve signed up for notifications on other stuff that I found was in stock on my own.

I saw that last weekend, there still isn't a way to connect and update the firmware unless you happen to have a serial device compatible with betaflight passthrough, if not you can send it in to HH and they will flash it.

From the HH facebook page:

My Brother had his Crawlmaster mini ESC act up on him and go out. His kid was driving (he's actually a really good driver for how young he is) and it all of a sudden it took off at full speed, turned to the right and now its dead and the receiver is dead too. I dont think he's gonna make a claim since it was just a gift. He was using a 2040 KV motor and 3S which I think is a little over what they were recommending until the programming is released (though I thought this had to do with not being as smooth start up and not potentially causing a failure). It didn't let any magic smoke out.
EDIT the ESC is still alive, the receiver was dead.

Ehmm thats really not an issue..get a stm linker for 6bucks and the right software and you are good. Of course you need to know what you are doing... Just ask Voodoobrew here on the board in his thread.
About the trouble with your brothers esc...did he solder a big capacitor on the esc?? Probably not and the reverse amperage just fried the poor little sucker.

Well he figured out it was still alive after all, the receiver was at fault.

But are people adding capacitors to these and where?

Great...he was lucky... You solder the cap on the battery leads. .Caps are usually marked + and - and you solder them accordingly ... 500 mF is the baseline...more is not always better.

Well...if you want to risk it ...its your ESC...in the beginning he said that the tiny BEC they provided was "enough"...and see what then happened.
