Looking killer. I love how the IFS skid area integrates seamlessly in the rear. Looks like it was designed for it.

What does it take to lock out the steering on the rear end?
That will be super easy. I can simply use some spacers and directly bolt the metal steering rack piece to the top plate of the bulkhead. Will take pictures.

Old days, yah. But those are still the "current days" for me. I build with what I have around the shop or local hardware stores. These days I do have the benefit of knowing smart people with CAD skills and fancy parts makers.

Check out this build I did years ago. Plastic surgery here too.

Loving the way this is turning out.
It was just some part in the parts bin. It was crazy how two of the perpendicular tubes matched the front shock mount locations. I'll show another Macgyver move when I shorten the nose area. Cut, drill, pin and glue.

Front will mount up well, ie two holes show match up when I shorten the nose.

This build is looking pretty rad. Can't wait to see the continuing progress!

Shortened the hood /front down by 12mm or so.
Drilled one of the holes in the tube a tad angled on accident. Reason the tube is wiggly on one side. Oh well.

Rear locked out with a drill bit, spacers, screws and nuts. Easy.
Yes, the screw is not centered in the E logo on the bulkhead due to the drag link arm underneath not being centered. Second underside picture you can see it.

Used the stock GOM servo mount piece. Cut it in a few places and made it fit between the chassis. Cut two aluminum spacers to tie into chassis pan.

That is the plan. Keep the whole car under 6lbs, low and fun.

Final mounting the chassis to the pan and counter sinking holes.

Really nice build man! The planning that went into this is probably pretty crazy but the end result will be awesome!

Thanks.
Plan was to buy two IFS kits and the GOM chassis parts and figure it out along the way with what I had in the garage. Haha Did have the help of a friend for the pan.

Welded up a front brace.

Made some foams from some foams.

Made two small shock mount braces to tie into the front bulkhead. Yup, it’s ugly but will firm up the shock mounts.

Getting closer. New VP wheels, mock up body panels, 2D interior, weak sauce full cell I painted and weaker sauce decal radiator.
Lots of small things done as well.

Thanks. Just trying to balance looks/proportions and weight/scale items. Don’t want too much of each for this build.

It was random cut up piece in the parts bin. Haha

Daughter wrenching and decorating yesterday.
Finalized panels done. Unpainted and unstickered.

Driverside inner front/rear fenders made from styrene sheet.
Easy as buying an RTR crawler!

Mostly done, waiting on graphics for a full wrap. These panels are temporary for testing.

Catch me on IG for more.
