| 1st Kit Build & thread
I received my kit 2 days early, thank you Horizon Hobby. I'm going to start the build and make some upgrade parts for the chassis while I wait for the tires and electronics. More to come! |

Couldn't wait so started the build last night. After 3 1/2 hrs I got about half way. My plan for the body is: Red with black trim (airbrushed). I'm going to try and glue real wood into the bed. I want this to be scale, so I will also add things for that. |

Nice! The wood in the bed sounds like a great scale detail!

No body noticed that I installed the right steering bracket backwards Fixed it when I installed the steering link. Finished the build last night. 7.5 hrs to build. Now time to make some new parts and install them, along with the changes that others have made to their builds. Body painting will come this weekend. Thank you all for the info and inspiration. |

Fitting up the body, brought up a couple questions that I hope other 46 PW builders can answer. 1- did you set the running boards onto the side plates? 2- How far out did the bed hang from the frame? 3- My battery and box hit the cab just as the front is flush with the front, is this normal? |

Also, I had to remove the receiver box because the body was hitting it and I couldn't center the body.

So this being my first body paint. I have a question on the painting sequence. My plan is to paint: Mask all black parts Spray Red (cab and bed) Back with silver Remove tape and paint the black (runners, wheel wells, misc) Back with white Back with red so that the interior is red Suggestions please. |

| Re: 1st Kit Build & thread I have the same problem with my Jeep body. I bought an extra battery brace from Element and mount it on the rear brace space. Then epoxy glued the receiver box to the brace.

So to solve my receiver box issue, I modified the design from SawnCraft https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3585637 I shelled the tank out, added a lid, made it 10mm deeper and added a wire slot that uses the stock box seal. I uploaded the file to thingaverse https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4330052 |

Got a few more things completed. The body is masked and ready for paint. Completed the design and 3D printing of the ESC support, rear bumper extension, rear bumper, pintle hook and receiver box/fuel tank. One question: do you glue the cab & bed fenders before paint or after? What type glue? E6000? |

Finally finished painting the body. I have added a couple scale items to the bed. I'm also still working on the wood for the bed and a mount for the radiator I 3D printed.
