I have been wanting to rebuild my truck for a while now just to rewire it and makes sure everything was in good shape for 2011. For this rebuild I will be using Crawler Innovations foams & parts, Mayhem Engineering wheels, Super 300 goodies, RC Axlemaster's, Holmes Hobbies Epic 40t motors on dual FXRs, Clover Custom Berg Axles and parts from JeepinDoug & Dr. Frank. The chassis will be the same Moonbuggy that I ran last year. It will all come together with a 4PK. Here is a pic of the electronics layout. ![]() there will be plenty more to come and thanks for looking ![]() Last edited by helhedded; 08-03-2011 at 01:09 PM. |

| ![]() ![]() yeah me too ![]() ![]() Well I at least have the tray wired up. (thanks to Whoodie's XR-10 thread) ![]() ![]() ![]() Here are the Large Big Bores ready to go. I saw more than a few drivers running these little springs at the LCQ of Nat's 2010 so I asked my buddy Andy (CRSMacguyver) about them and he hooked me up with a full set of the pinks to run in the main event. I really enjoyed how soft they were up front but not in the rear. After Nats I ran to the LHS and picked up the full pack of Mini-T fronts. I run the reds in the rear and so far I have had great results. ![]() Last edited by helhedded; 01-10-2011 at 05:58 PM. |

Do those little springs still allow the shocks to fully compress?? Just wondering, I'm thinking of trying some. What colors would be comparable to losi golds??

| ![]() Thanks! It will look even better once I get it all built. ![]() Quote:
![]() Just kidding. If Dieter-Stediju came all the way over here I would be in luck because he would cook gyros for me and we would drink German beer. The mini t springs allow for full compression. At first I tried the 1/18th Associated 1.75 silver springs but they limited the shock compression too much. The mini t springs don't come with a listed spring rate but I would assume that the firm orange springs are closest to the gold losi. Last edited by helhedded; 01-10-2011 at 11:34 PM.

I met my post man with a wide grin on my face today! Bryan @ Clover Custom Design did an excellent job on my front axle. It was well worth the wait. I had to break out the make-shift photo box for these puppies. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() These HH motors treated me very well for most of last year by giving me no problems and long life. I will continue to run them but I am looking at getting another pair of motors soon. ![]() Here it is paired up with the rear. The rears have had a few packs. ![]() I also started on my panels last night. I usually pick dark colors but his time I'm going for something that is bright and uplifting. . . . . ![]() ![]() |

Very nice. That positive caster is hott. I do need some sunglass for that paint, it's pretty glossy. |

![]() It looks like I have 20* with the axle level. Before Clover Customs was around I always kicked back my axle a bit to get a little caster. That wasn't really the best way to do it because it caused the motor to hang down a little (I don't run a clocked motor). It didn't cause many problems like you would think but it still was noticeable in some spots. Now I will be able to get all the caster I want and the motor wont be hanging down ![]() (well up to 20* ![]()

| ![]() yes they do ![]() LOL Those are DNA kisses from my early berg days. I have never ran the Mayhem berg offset up front with VP knuckles. I have always ran the WK offset which is 1/8" wider than the berg offset. It gives you more clearance ![]() hey Dieter! Thanks for the tip. I will have to look into that.
