Honestly, I think it would be overkill. My VXL on 3S is a handful on the hills once it hits the power band.

Nope, the SCB is only 2WD. For real FOFF you need two powered axles, locked. FOFF is 4WD climbing that is grown extremer, first using offroad tires, then using paddles an special pattern designs. For climbing 4WD is essential, you have to pass gates like in rockcrawling, the rig must be able to navigate precisely on the steepest grounds!

Man, this is one cool rig. I'm curious, how is the tranny holding up? Are you running the stock gears? Is it an issue running these high rpm's ? I imagine running at high speed, as opposed to super low torque, would have a different set of "problems".

Have you thought of shortening the front wheelbase and stetching it in the rar for a better forward weight bias? I would figure that would make more sense and hellp keep the front end down on the vertical climbs, |

That's a good idea... what if you ran a pair of overdrive gears in the axles - would get you a noticeable bump in wheel speed? Dammit, now I've got to build one of these things ! |

| You might as wel; just gear up at the trans. it'd be easier. But i think overdriving the front would also help pull it up the hill.

I am running the stock transmission and axles, no upgrades at all. So far, I haven't had any issues with the extra power breaking parts, and these axles were heavily used in my rock racer before I threw them in this rig. Quote:

Great truck Brad, the brushless set up has some mean rooster tails on all four wheels. How much width did you take out of the body? |

If I remember right I took just over an inch out. But, I cut this body in half a few years ago, so it's tough to recall.

| I am at 20/87 right now. Need to find some bigger hills to see for sure, but it seems good to me. No weight added to the wheels. I am not sure on total weight, but I will check after I finish repairs. It is pretty light though. |

| I have been debating the same thing. I may try narrowing a set of wheels for the front axle and see. Panther paddles are the way to go, according to what I have been told. I just bought another set for the front of mine.
