No problem man. Always better to have numbers instead of estimates, right? haha

hey man, got a question for ya. i see you are gonna have the clutch bell on that motor.

but i was wondering of you are running spools in the axles or not? i am not sure what type of driveline would be best for this type of rig and wanted to know your thoughts. in my mind of using brushless i wonder if the stock center TF tranny would work with the slipper with spools in both axles, or diffs, or a combo. what do you think?

Sorry MJ I missed you're question. I am going to run a spool in the center, and front. The rear will be a diff though. I think it will turn better. I'm gonna try 7K oil to start with. Maybe heavier and maybe a spool later. The shafts I'm running are Truggy shafts and they hold up to some pretty incredible abuse in race conditions. If the twin trany can hold up to dual 550's it should hold up just fine to a single bl. I was ruthless to mine when it was in stock form.

I dont know how tough a stock twin force tranny is, but a single 1/8 scale brushless system will make the two 550's look like slugs. I had an E-Savage transmission in my monster GT with two 550's. I was hard on the tranny with the 550's, going from still rolling backwards, to WOT forward at time, etc... Put in a brushless motor and murdered the tranny gears on the 2nd run. lol

Truck is looking great

I've stalled out my 10t puller on 3S plenty of times and the trany was the last thing I was worried about. I know slow isn't as destructive as fast, but as long as the chain and the mounts are structurally sound I don't think there will be an issue. Unless you go 1/8 bl on 6S. Not sure any trany would hold up to that.

hey bart. thanks for answering that. i have been brainstorming and drawing pics of what i would do with a FOFF rig. going for a center diff would probably be easiest, and stringest. but i have that stock tranny laying around and would love to use it for something.

i might go a bit thicker with that rear diff at some point too. all that spinning is bound to really make that diff work hard. buit if you can keep the front tires on the grip, it should be enough to keep the rear tires working well.

I completely forgot that it is just a chain drive setup. Id say that will hold up to darn near anything

Actually 7K is what I run in my center diff in my buggy. Should hold up fine. Having the diff open will help the rig rotate when turning. Locked could restrict that some.

Sorry no updates. All the things that go with life interrupt progress

Itty bitty update. So many projects so little time
Start of front radius arm suspension

And got the ass installed

Center spool installed and rear output for truggy shaft makes it exactly 18"WB

This thing is going to be amazing, i noticed you haven't set up a throttle linkage yet, i would look into one from a t-maxx or monster gt, either one should work great. Also where did you get the spool for the center diff?

They were damn hot weren't they Saundo

Thanks
That particular one is a CDW from way back. www.supershafty.com can fix you up with a new spool and anything else you might need for your Force axles

wow man that is coming along really nicely.

is that extended center drive shaft off the spool something you made? or did you have V8 hook you up? i like it either way!!!!

seems like the suspension arms are gonna be short, comparatively, to a crawler suspension arm. is that helpful in the high speed of the FOFF's?

can't wait to see this thing on wheels!!!

The links are short cause there is half the travel that a crawler has. The mid shaft is something a buddy fabbed for me. Originally it was for inside a TF axle. I was playing around with the idea of some WIDE axles. It fits perfectly on this rig for an 18" wheelbase.

The front end is mounted. Now for the track bar and the rear ladder bars to mount to the Super Shafty link mounts

I gotta get some paddles ordered to really make this thing shine don't I

Just curious what you use for making your bends. Do you bend them by hand or do you use a tubing bender?
