Hopefully i'll be able to get the rear axle built, trans assembled & motor mounted and the rear battery plate made this weekend.
I also have to make a front truss, servo mount and link mount. All one piece. Wrap you head around that..
I decided to scrap the steering bell crank idea to keep the weight balanced on the chassis.

I just finished assembling the trans and mounting up the motor. I'll post some pic's soon. I also got some pic's of the weight of the stock axle cases and the aluminum cases. Stay tuned..

Here are some pic's of the trans and the motor assembly. The gearing is a 87 spur and a 21 pinion.

The next pic's are of the weight of the axle housing, stock then aluminum.

I should get more done this weekend..

looking great!!!

just a thought tho, are you using the stock diff gears in the axles? i have the HD gears in mine as i heard that the stock gears may not be tough enough. might be ok tho and only one way to find out

Without question yard out those multi piece stock gear sets. The hardened gears are the only way to go. "One good bump or jump and those stockers are gonna be junk." Poetry R/C style.

I tried to mount the motor and trans and guess what?
Not enough room, I got a hold of Juan and he is sending me a wider skid.
When it gets here i'll take some pic's and post them.

I have some pic's of the UGC Wide skid that is Very important to my build.
The pic's will show you why it is imperative that i got this skid.

This is what the chassis looks like with the Traxxas VXL system in it.

Talk about filling up a chassis..

This is what i had to do to make it all work.

Obviously, this would not hold up under the serious power of the VXL.

This is the skid plate i got from Juan (UGC). It's perfect for this build. Thanks again Juan..

This is how it matches up to the spacing i did on the original skid. Perfect fit.

This should make this build move along a little quicker.
Also i'm working on the ECC trip for the S Fla. guys.
Thanks for watching.:mrgr een:.

Sorry guys, It's been an extremely busy week at work. I hope to get the chassis all built this weekend. The electronics are another story.
