As promised progress is being made, working on the front end. Lining up the axles and getting the shocks set up. I'll post some pic's soon.

This is the skid plate i got from Juan at UGC with this motor and trans mounted up. I had to space it up for clearance, the motor is so big that it wouldn't allow the trans to sit flush to the skid.

More to come

I didn't get the front end complete, because I'm struggling with the servo mount and the upper link mount. Here is what i got so far.

Next will be the rear end.

Why did you mount the shocks on top of the axle? You've really got those laid back.

To make room for the servo linkage. It's to only way to get it to the draglink.
Do you have another idea?

Are you going to run the servo turned backwards?
I've run a few different BTA setup's and even though tolerances get tight with the shocks I've made it happen.

Yes, backwards and behind and level with the servo plate. I'm downloading pic's now. I'll post them in a few.

Like this.

This only works when i add on the VP shock razer's, it splits the difference between the stock mount and the top mount.

I see said the blind man.
So why not put the servo horn/arm facing up, drop the shocks down into the proper position, in board them some, and run the steering/tierod with a 90 degree bend up and over to the Horn.

Oh yeah, you will have to cut a slot in your mount for the arm to poke up through and to travel in.

Doubtful it will bottom out, I have the Blue springs on it, very firm, with 60wt oil in the shocks. Not to mention i was going to add a full length of fuel tubing to keep the shocks from compressing to much. .

Very creative steering set up. Looking forward to some video. I am seeing some inspiration for my next build. For what my .02 is worth, due to the axle weight over all. I feel the suspension set up is going in the right direction. You maybe a little heavy on the springs and oil wt. with the rear shock being so laid back (MAYBE). Best information at this point is pulling the Trigger on this bad boy and see where it is at.

Side bar : I think that you will need to alter your gearing. 87t spur and 21t pinion isn't going to get it done. Kimbrough 44T/32p spur and a RRP 23T/32p pinion is the latest gearing set up on mine. If speed is what your looking for then this is your ticket to H*L% SH!T !

I made one like that before, I used 1/8" 7075 aluminum, mounted the servo with aluminum servo mounts and it was fine, It does put a lot of stress on the screws that mount it to the axle housing....on the plastic axles they would always work loose.

Ok guy's, thanks, I'll refine the linkage and see where it ends up. I here some where that a firm suspension is required for these kind of vehicles.

I'm sure i have almost every pinion gear in odd sizes up to a 31. Will this get me SPEED?

It will get you some speed. In my opinion I would get rid of the finer toothed gears (48p) and go to 32p. For one the larger teeth will take the abuse alot better. I need to post up a picture of my gears now. The Spur gear is gust larger than the Slipper clutch LOL. To get closer to the speed mine is running you will need a 35t pinion.

Those are for the Wraith.
Back on post #76 when you had to modify those, I saw how they had the splines and thought that, but wasen't sure..... that blows.
