| Does anyone have experience with this?
well, im looking for a brushless system for my foff and was on someone's thread here and saw an add for brushless systems. I clicked on it and found a very good deal on a esc/ motor combo. LEOPARD SKYRC 4370KV 9T Brushless Motor & 60A ESC Speed Controller Combo ME720 - SKYRC TORO Model Brushless Motor ESC Combo - SKYRC TORO Model I read through everything and the specs make it seem a tad bit small but I'm gonna try and make my rig light so it might get me by. But for $55 and for it being leopard (who I've actually heard of) I was thinking it might be a cheap alternative to other systems. What other suggestions do you guys have for a not as common brushless system thats a little less than other ones. But my main question is has anyone worked with that system and had good/bad experiences? |

The thing about trying non proven products is the low price now might be money thrown in the trash if it does not work. I think a castle system, while more expensive, is better money spent. I have heard from some of the short course guys that Viper makes some decent systems that are lower in price ( not $55, but less than the $275 a MMP and Tekin pro4 motor would be). I would also consider a sensored system, they are much smoother, though in a FoFF it might not matter. I know it costs more, but a Castle Mamba Max Pro and a tekin pro4 3300 is a great system, and nearly bullet proof in most applications. | |

Or you could go with a vxl system. Alot cheaper and waterproof.

I purchased the 3930kv version of the Skyrc Leopard brushless system. My take on it is..... Great for Buggies and other very light rc's that can accept a 540 size can. Remember that this Motor is a 380 Finned and sized to a standard 540 size motor. It lacks the torque for heavy trucks unless.... possibly... your running supper low gear ratio and not rock crawling (ie Scaler). Don't for one moment assume it measures up to a Castle Creations 3800KV system (My prefered system for Truggy/Buggy). I VERY HIGHLY recommend it for Very light rc's and old vintage Tamiyas that would otherwise suffer damage from high torque motors. ($66 shipped Fleabay) |

I've read good things about the LT4. My 4 brushless systems were bought used from the RCC classifieds. 2 x MMP 2 x Pro4 MM CC cm36 5700 & 9000 and a VXL system. I got the last MMP, decased, for $65 & Pro4 for $75 |

The LT4 is an amazing speed control, alot of guys run them at our track. I personally have 3 of them in my wheeler, 2wd truck, and 2wd buggy. But I and a few other guys have run them in their 4wd Short Course trucks on the Pro4 4600 without a problem. We just met Stan the owner this weekend at our Presidents Day Classic race and the guy is top notch. He knows a ton and I can personally vouch for this thing being more than tough enough.
