Snap! Your R1 looks good. The FJ swap is sick. You try any other tire combos when the axles where under the R1 chassis? I ordered one today. I have gnarled up set of 2.2 rock crushers that I might mock up to see how it looks. |

i just ran the rovers because i know they work for comping. i bet the rock crushers would look really good on this truck. mostly any scale tire would compliment the R1 nicely. the new pitbull rock beasts are high on my list. the rok lox are always a crowd favorite, but they are ballooning like mad on the FJ.

Nice looking rig though, I'll be keeping up with this thread for sure. Hopefully the axle swap didn't spell the end for the R1. | |

| not at all. i really like the chassis of the R1 for a lightweight scale comper/basher. its compact yet i can still "hide" my electronics and battery on the chassis. and even with the battery in the rear, it still performs very well. so for now, i am keeping it comp legal and have fitted it with Tamiya CR-01 axles. while they are nowhere near as sexy as the the stock axles, the CR-01 axle has simliar link and shock mount placement so they really fell on the chassis. being a 1/2" narrower, im not hating the way its crawling either. i also chose the CR-01 axles for the ability to unlock the front axle. im curious to see how it will help/hurt the truck in corners at speed. i picked up a trinity monster pro to throw on there for now, until i decide between another scorpion outrunner or waterproof vxl. decisions, decisions. i definitely plan on putting the proper axles back under the R1 in the very near future...especially if they hold up under the FJ. behind the axle steering. axial comp shocks installed while i paint the stock shocks. trinity monster pro 27turn LEDs are on the way! Another of your classics: MOAs are crutches for people who can't drive. If you want the easy way out - go for this new axial.... These kinds of comments will take you far here. | |

elbo.... your fj is super nice. And let me tell you, I personaly wouldn't have had the guts to take apart the Gmade to place the axles under the fj. Just a question, you state that you think the gmade axles wont stand second gear in you crawler....why? I have seen videos of the gmade go pretty fast, how fast would yous be? |
