I wasn't complaing. I would want any of these trucks. It's just that some of them don't seem to be "world crawler build off" material.

Well, my submission falls under everyones complaints: It been around for a while Poor quality pics Isn't buildoff material But since I was actually asked to enter then I didn't see any reason not too. Now that i see the other submissions, I know that mine doesn't stand a chance since it's nothing totally out of the ordinary and won't outwheel some of the other trucks built. I just can't believe how many NON-CONTESTANTS are complaining about this. I would understand that if you entered and you weren't happy with your competition, but if you didn't even enter and you bash the comp or the trucks. Well that's just plain S-H-I-T-T-Y. Anyways, that's my .02. Here are my pics, Buildup pics. Enjoy them or bash them. It's up to you. |

I wish I would have entered too, but I'm too slow. There are some cool rigs in the finals. The judges did a great job of picking a varied selection of crawlers. I'm glad it wasn't a popularity contest. I can't wait to see the winner, and I can't wait for the next build off.

Here is a link to Tubby... Build up Photos I mounted a 1/4 scale servo in the chassis using a cantilever style steering setup to free up room on the axle. The steering has also been relocated to behind the front axle to increase clearance. I have also moved the suspensions rotational pivit point to cancel out the shafties natorious torque twist. It's currently running 2 batteries, 1 to the servo and 1 to the motor. A Novak servo regulator supplies the servo with an uninterupted 6.0V of power pushing @ 350 oz of torque. I will be submitting my measurments to Jason tonight, im currently at work and dont have it here. Total props to all the builders for their submitions and great ideas.. i hope to do this again... im working on something sweet... can we say.. from scratch. Anyway.... i hope to see a post some time with all of the submissions and cant wait to see what people come up with next year. Last edited by TwistedXT; 09-30-2005 at 02:41 PM. |

I think there is some top notch worksmanship in these rigs. I think alot of people wanted to do a rig but ended up not doing so because of time/budget restraints. I think for the next round a new format could help bring in more people (ie: two build up threads from every month after this comp. can be selected to be in the running for a crawler of the year type of thing. This way there are 24 rigs, and those that have tons of excuses have a year to think of their next excuse I can't decide my vote personally. Should beauty win over functionality, or just plain "sweeeeeet" factor? I wish I could've gotten my ideas out and made in time. Its alright though, I think my next big idea will create a buzz... and no, its not a truck. |

I like you're truck alot Xtreme RC. Especially the coffin shaped center part. But why is it so narrow? I'm not hitting on your truck I'm just new and want to learn some new stuff.
