Got the front axle done today. Had to machine a new beefy output shaft for the planetary. Here's some pics of the metal gears next to stock, new output shaft next to stock, and a couple pics of them all installed.

Yeah Sidekick cameras blow! As for the metal gears the drive gear is from a team losi and the axle gear is from a savage. Just took some machining and some cussing.

Could you be a little more specific as to which gears you used? I would like to do this mod, but w/o some add. info i have no idea just which gears i actually need to find.

Mr Glassman, after ripping mine apart i think a simple solution is to make the outer planetary housing (yellow) resessed to house a bushing.your gear mod is awsome and if you make a few sets i have dibs, but if somone can come up with a way to take and put a bushing in the planetay housing to get rid of the final gear wobble i think the "popping" will be gone.

You might be able to "shim" the backside of the drive gear with some thin nylon washers to eliminate some of that slop.my new set-up doesn't have any slop due to new shaft design. I'm on my way to AZ to do some R&D I'll let you guys know how it went. Twisted it actually geared it down slightly not that noticible but it did. Low Range I hope that info helped. When I get back to CO expect a write up.
