thanks, yes it has been hard at times, i wish i had a picture of the area before i started carving trails. lots of digging, raking and cutting. the whole track was covered with 8 inches of pine needles, weeds and trees. the thick pine needles actually help with carving out paths and trails. its amazing what one can do with a hand saw, metal rake, hammer, drill and shovel oh and lots of time.

went to lowes today. they didnt have any cull bags so i picked up 4 80lb bags anyway an let our friend at the contractors desk to let me know when they do have some ripped bags. i finished one side of the mountain with a bag an a half, i might start the other side since this side is almost finished.

i will get some more pics of the other side after i rest a lil. the weather couldnt be nicer to be outside and mix concrete by hand

Default Looking great!

Well, your course was definitely one of my inspirations for my course, of course mine is much smaller due to space limitations, but should still give plenty of enjoyment and "Zen relaxation" time. Took some of the advice of people who responded to my build thread and are beginning to incorporate some other builders ideas as well. Too bad your not in Kansas, I'd love to drive your course!

was dry enough this morning to snap a few pics in no particular order. 4 80lb bags later, a few spots still wet from this morning but should be good for tomorrow

That looks cool. Nice job.

I wish I had the room to do that in my back yard.

thanks!
at first i didnt think i had so much usable space because it was very cluttered. eventually i started clearing more space piece by piece. i do consider myself very lucky to have been able to build this.

Thanks for the info.and dose everything grow back that you cut down in your part of the state?I cleared the under brush off about a 1/4 acre last summer and it grew back out of the ground level stumps.

it tries to. im sure when spring gets here it will start to grow back and ill have to clear the trails again but i do occasionally go through the trails and pull roots out an trim up the overgrowth. the stumps i left dont seem to be growing yet.

That's good.imoing to use some of the stumps for molds.put the concrete on the on them and that will save on dirt/rock to be used.
