Just some general thoughts:

Get stick-on 1:1 wheel weights, and wrap your wheels with them. Put about 6 - 8 oz. on each front wheel and about 3 oz on each rear wheel.

Mount your battery in the front of the truck, as low as possible.

Use light or extra light springs on your shocks.

If you do these three things, it'll help a lot. One other thing is a larger pinion, smaller spur gear, or a motor with more turns. You might be geared on the high side.

All of this being said, if you're stuck and you give it a lot of throttle, it'll hop around no matter what. But these mods will help reduce the hopping. My class 3 rig weighs between 8 and 9 lbs, it has vented wheels and all of the above things I mentioned. But if the obsticle is bad enough, it'll hop until it gets traction.

Anyways, Can you explain what presegmented lead is?

My rims are vented, and I have a 60/40 droop setup. But it just seems like it wants to hop up the rocks.

What I mean is, it gets stuck too damn much on the simplest of rocks.

as for driveshafts, here is what I am running Scale Steel Punisher Shaft (100-135mm) 5mm
Pre-segmented means that each little weigh is individual from the others. Most lead weights come as one chunk. They are stamped for segments but you have to cut the lead or bend them back and forth to get a single piece off, then cut the tape. With ours you just cut the tape.... which is less hassle.

Do you have any weight in the wheels now? What is your suspension setup? Which springs? Can you max out the articulation by just lifting one tire or do you have to hold one down and lift? You may just have springs that are too stiff...

My scx10 honcho lurches with little to no throttle. Called axial they suggested for my purposes ( scale crawling) that I ditch the 27t stock motor and go to 55 turn. Less speed, more torque. Perhaps this is what you meant by jummpy. If not, sorry.

Wonder if recalibrating the esc would help.
