I'm thinking of buying the Tamiya FJ Cruiser Kit (1/10), which looks pretty cool. The only other build I've done so far is an Axial SCX10 Dingo. That taught me a lot and now I'm hungry for another. Any thoughts on the FJ Cruiser, or other suggestions for a second build? Thanks! |

Only about 10 or so over the years. Last one I didn't even bother cracking open the manual. Tamiya kits are arguably the best in the business as far as directions, fit and finish. The chassis under there is a CC01 - totally different ball game from what you are used to. Check out the CC01 section for an idea of what you are getting into. Fun rigs with a bit of work. Only suggestion I'd have is the more time and patience you put into the body, the better it will come out. It's not as bad as some of their race cars (I've spent 6 hours applying decals once) but it's not a slap-dash assembly either. It's a stunner once assembled and painted correctly though. |

I am visually impaired and found the kit to be a pleasure to build. I had a few fitment issues in the front end that took a little work to sort out but that my own fault not a fault of the kit. The body takes a bit of patience but the final result is well worth it.

Yeah, have a look in the CC01 section. Anyways, me and my friend Cammonkey built his CC01 Landfreeder and was a reasonably simple but fun build. Only problem was when he stripped the threads and the cracked the chassis! |

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm definitely going to take a closer look and probably pick up a cruiser kit.
