Default Stiffer springs or thicker oil

Hi, hoping I can get some advice guys.
Recently bought a U4 racer (FTX Outlaw) to bash with my son's Wraith, it's a cheap rig but loads of potential. Now first tests show the front end really diving in hard corners and the shocks are very soft when depressing the front end. Back end is aok. The shocks themselves are probably cheap but there's no evidence of leakage at all and they're nice and smooth so I don't want to swap them out of I don't need to.
So, my question is, should I get stiffer springs for the front or try a thicker oil first off? I'd prefer to try the spring route first as its way easier and less likely to have a negative impact if I rebuild incorrectly when doing the oil.
Anyone have an opinion on this they'd care to share please?
Thanks for looking.

I've been tweaking my suspension all week. I tried softer springs first come to find out I wanted to give light oil a try as well.

If you have adjust-ability or a way to pre-load your springs, you can try that for free. I'd go with shock oil first (I went lower weight for my purpose), then if you can, adjust pre-load if you can to stiffen it more if you need to. If that doesn't work, I'm sure a combo of thicker oil and slight stiffer springs will work.

I went for the opposite, soft springs and thin oil for a droopy setup; for a most scale simulation when trailing.

Based on Mr. Shelby’s quote above, I would say try thickening the oil first.

If you have multiple mounting points, moving them outboard will make them effectively stiffer (both spring and damping-wise).
