So iv got the amazon special magnet mounts and they are kinda crappy.. gonna get better magnets and make it work i believe But the problem i ran into is i used them in the shock mount locations i think on the chassis.. How are you guys mounting these bodies with out pins coming through? You can kinda see the mount in the rear wheel well |

Tried magnets and didn't get it working well so have moved to velcro which in my opinion is much better. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk |

| Re: Body mounting Had the same experience, they just do not hold well when the truck takes a good hit or rolls over. The only way I was able to have any success at all with magnets was to have the front end of the body hook into the frame, and the back end held on with magnets. Industrial Velcro works pretty good, but can make getting the body off a bear at times.

Magnets hold a lot better if there's something either on the body or surrounding the magnets to prevent sheer. Magnets have very good clamping strength, but not the best sheer strength. Keep in mind that this requires the neodymium magnets (rare earth) and not the normal ceramic crap from Walmart. Neo magnets have ridiculously strong clamping force, especially if you can get them in n50 or stronger. I built a magnet mount for my Clone Hammers that encased the magnets in a cylinder. This prevented them from sheering and provides excellent strength. What I've seen other guys do is buy the ring style magnets that can slide right over the stock body posts. You glue the lower magnets to the body post, then put the upper magnets on & trim the body posts so that it's a little recessed from the upper magnet. Pull off the upper magnets, set some saran wrap or something else over the body post & lower magnets, reinstall the upper magnets, add glue, then set the body down on top of them. Once the glue dries the upper magnets will stay with the body, and the body posts between the magnets will prevent them from sheering. This should provide a very good clamp even during rollovers. Here's my clone hammers mount that shows how the magnet is sunk into a cylinder. When the lid is closed, the lid magnets also sit in that cylinder: |

3racing EX real comes with a great magnetic body mount set. The magnets are wide and flat with a countersunk screw hole in the middle. For the body you get metal cups that the magnets sit in. Unfortunately I don't think they're available as spares. Drifters often use magnet mounting, maybe see if anything similar is available. |

What kind of magnets did you use? If you use good quality appropriately sized neo magnets, it'll stick tighter than velcro.
