How much does the yatch the weight? I'm sure it can pull it though. Upgrade to brushless though, so much more torque. I drove a friends brushless Gmade Sawback and it was amazing. Lipo on the other hand, they're something else. You can keep using your nimh packs, but you'll have no speed whatsoever and the run time is terrible. I don't take a bunch of caution with my lipos, but I keep them fully charged in a locked steel ammo box. Google lipo safety and get reading ;) |

No idea yet how heavy the yacht itll be its a fiberglass with all the scale accessories Plus ill be using 12v12ah gelcell battery and that battery alone is about 8pounds so maybe about 12 pounds? Its a viking 55 similar to this one Is there any other body in can use on my rubicon? Like maybe a tf2 body do you think that would fit perfectly? Last edited by HARDRIVE; 04-27-2015 at 02:48 PM. |

A Rubicon has a 12.3" wheelbase. I think the TrailFinder has a 11.4 wheelbase. If you get new links it's possible but you'd also need new tires and driveshafts. It's a lot of work, but it can be done. That's a heavy @$$ battery......if you want, get a lipo for the boat. Lighter, longer, and faster. Can't go wrong with lipos. If you want to think about upgrading, here is a safety guide. It's not everything, if you have questions ask around, but it covers the basics. http://www.horizonhobby.com/pdf/EFL-...tyWarnings.pdf |

That boat'll look sexy being pulled by your school bus I actually think I have some old nimh backs from old toys like the terrainiac came with. I'm gunna charge one after I get homework done. (All the way done if either of my parents are reading this.... ) I'll finally have a working RC car actually in my house!!! Yay!!!! Can't wait for the merv to get back... I miss that thing already. I'm off to plug in my batteries and work on algebra, I'll be back with updates in about 2 hours (not sure how long it will take to charge and discharge the batteries, hoping it's before it gets too dark. But h3ll my light kit is as bright as the sun. I wish I was kidding. I'll get pictures uploaded to photobucket as soon as I can. I'll wait till it's dark though, no point in doing it during the day haha. |

It didn't work..... I'm sad now. When I hit the throttle, the tires moved in a glitchy pattern and the servo pulled HARD left when I mashed the throttle. I'll check the programming again later but for now I still need a new battery. The 9.4V pack didn't want to work at all me the 7.0V pack was giving me what was described before. I'm thinking it is the c rating along with low mah. But I don't know. I've never ran nimh or NiCad

So since I go to school in the city, I have off tomorrow due to rioting in the city which means I won't have to get up early. So I am going be to awake until 4am figuring out how to get this battery to work on the SCX10. Then I have to replace a mailbox and mow 2 lawns tomorrow. Hoping for sun and no clouds. I need more RC money!!! Hoping I get a lot done tonight. I will finally be doing something productive at 3am, it might be soldering deans plugs onto old batteries, but hey man. If it means my rig works I'm in for it. Wish me luck ☺️ |

I had this RC car called the Tyco Terrainiac when I was about 4-5 years old. That "little" 3 wheeled truck could go anywhere, and I mean anywhere. It floated, went through snow, grass, ice, concrete, nothing could stop this thing. The thing even LOOKED badass. It comes with 2x 9.4 volt NiCad battery packs to use it, one to use and one to charge while you're using the other battery. I found one of the batteries a few days ago and I thought "Hey, this might work for the SCX10, my esc is rated for 10.6V max! This should work!" Well it didn't. I fully charged it but it didn't work. So I went back downstairs and found a 7.4V pack from another old RC car (the name escapes me) and charged it, plugged it in, and boom. I had steering. I was excited. Then I tried throttle. Then I wasn't excited. Every time I touched the throttle, the motor was chugging, the motor could not keep moving for over 1/2 seconds, and when I mashed the throttle, the servo went hard left and I lost throttle. So I tried a 4.6V pack from another old RC car and it didn't work either. So I left the 7.4V pack on trickle charge overnight and I haven't tried again yet. Ive been 15 since mid March. And yes, I mow lawns for money. I'm also starting to work on a boat as a first mate on my uncles boat in July over the summer. I pay for all of my stuff. I've only been given one thing, and it was basically forced on me lmao. It was the d772 servo. I'm best friends with the guy who gave it to me. That little servo has some power. I hate when you miss them by like 30 seconds and they don't. Stop. For. Anyone. -___- At least you know your parts are here! Last edited by -SCXD90-; 04-28-2015 at 10:45 AM. |

It was brushed. It was meant for 3-6 year olds. Brushless gave it the speed it needed. It was more of a torque monster. Same goes for my scx10. Can't wait to get this 2200kV installed

Why must these batteries piss me off so much? It worked when the tires were off the ground and it didn't when they were. Then I made a connector to plug the charger directly into the rig and it worked fine, on and off the ground. I miss lipos......steeeeeeeve let me buy the lipos already I miss them........

No....it's this goddamn esc. I hate axial for this. They should have stayed with Castle for their power systems. This ae5 is a POS. I need to call my lhs again to get it replaced a third time....... I don't even know what to say about the delivery tell them to hold it until you pick it up. Then you won't be on a wild goose chase.... |

Looking nice. Just need an interior and you'll have a nice rig. For the bumper, take it off of the frame, move the bolts as far out as possible, tighten the bolts and nuts down as hard as possible, and then attach it to the frame. That should get it done. Also, do you use photobucket to import pictures? It's not letting the pictures show up and it's kinda aggravating |
