Last time I was crawling on the bed I ended up putting tire marks on my wall. Lmao I spy with my little eye a man driving a 4x4 slash in a ball field near my house..... Time to get on the bike and go talk with him hahahah |

So I think I changed my mind on a body for the scx10 for now........ If you've ever heard of Headquake RC on YouTube or Facebook, you'll know exactly how amazing this is. This guy uses wood and styrene to make the most scale RC cars you'll ever see. I'm tempted to go to the craft store to pick up some styrene sheets and wood (I'll have to see what kind of wood he uses so I don't end up with a crap looking body) Amazing, right? |

I think I might do a 1985 Chevy K5 Blazer. Not a very "curvy" build, I want to stay away from curves when I'm making my first styrene accessory. But before I even begin to start playing with styrene I want to do 2 things: - Get these new electronics purchased, delivered, and installed. Finally got the moolah on Friday so all I need to do is actually purchase them lol - just for the hell of it, square wheels. Why? Because reasons. Positive impact? None, but who cares? I can't wait to pull up to a trail meet with square wheels made of wood.... I'm sure the group will get a kick out of it Don't work for RC4WD then. They make every D110 body with 2 D90 bodies by hand, no machinery involved. And no, it's probably not very fun. |

If my Blazer turns out nice I'll let you know. I might be able to make up something for you. What did you want out of styrene? If it's not too tricky I might make it for you. Who knows, I might be a master at styrene. If I am I'm never buying a lexan body ever again lol

| Re: RC4WD Gelande II D110 Truck Kit w/Hard Body build/review You can say that again! My only issue is I'm not sure if I'll be able to build the body around my 4.75" TTC claws, because I don't want to botch the body up and I wouldn't trade my 4.75"s for anything. I might need to get 4.19" claws, mount them to my Steelies, and put my 4.75"s on my old Axial 8 hole beadlocks... I have no idea what that means lol I figured he used balsa or something similar. I'm just not sure balsa will hold up to my abuse, might need to get a steel bumper and cut some holes out of the wood one to mount it. I guess I will find out soon. I can't wait for summer break to get here so I have a lot of time to work on this kind of stuff, I've not touched my rig in about a month. It's just sitting there....collecting dust and staring at me....calling my name.... The struggle is real Last edited by -SCXD90-; 05-05-2015 at 02:29 PM. |

Looking at a mods list for SpinTires (if you've not seen it, look it up. It's like $14.99 on steam.com with almost unlimited upgrades and modifications) I've seen a few 1999-2001 Dodge Ram 1500's, 2500's, and 3500's. I might do a 3500 and use tractor trailer tires from RC4WD.... Hmmmmmmmmmm

| Re: RC4WD Gelande II D110 Truck Kit w/Hard Body build/review I probably will. I would still get the claws' performance but it'll be more manageable.... I just don't want to loose that much clearance under the axles... Quote: | |

Is it top heavy or does it manage it's weight well? You might want to look at taking the roof rack off and getting a plastic one from Proline. It's cheaper but lighter. Better handling in the end. Also, if you want better handling, get foams about .2" larger than the actual tire. It pushes the tread out a bit, increasing traction. However, if you want more tire contact pressure, get foams a but too small. I run 4.6" foams in my 4.75" tires and I run 4.75" foams in my 4.6" tires. The 4.75" TIRES do well on wet smooth rocks because they have a huge footprint due to the smaller foam. The 4.60" tires do well on dry & jagged rocks because they have a smaller footprint but have a more "central" tread which grabs the rocks a bit easier, despite the smaller footprint... As for my body, I've decided on a 1999 Ram 1500. Need to work out a color scheme though. Thinking about maybe doing something like red/black... But idk |
