I would love a classic jeep too. My first car was an LJ

There's a lot of new junk in this truck that you're missing (bobbed bed, pre-painted black drop bed, new new grille with radiator, high clearance skid, marlin roll bar, and METAL front bumper). Mechanically, sure it's essentially the same, but it's a pretty cool release for an RTR.

I don't know whom else this bothers, but it would be nice to have a winch and the correct mirrors included, but I'm just a noob.

I'd rather see an SJ Grand Wagoneer with wood paneling and ZJ before another Wrangler :p

I was wandering what happened to that MC rollbar drawing I did in 2014 LOL

I like the new grill, they should sell it separately.

No, the LWB is a different bed altogether. The LWB wheelwell opening is very close to the front of the bed unlike this one.

Replicating the 1:1 mirrors would likely require molding them in plastic.

I'll take the incorrect rubber mirrors that don't break off on every tumble over correct mirrors that would snap off on the first impact.

They don't need a time machine. Either build the truck to the photos they show or tell marketing to not show the truck with the cutout doors.

No more Jeeps! We have way, way too many Jeeps already. Let's get something else before we get another freaking Jeep!

Oh wow. Their less than exciting releases kind of make sense now. Is RC4WD really that against spending some money on new engineering?

How many of your designs do they have stored away from upcoming "new" releases?

RPM can make durable, chrome plastic. This would have taken initiative and money from RC4WD though.

I like it! I do agree that we need more of a variety of hard bodies. RC4WD did a nice job with the Blazer, but it seems like the same bodies keep getting made over and over again regardless if they are Leaxan or a hardbody! I would love to see a International Scout hard body!

Being that I hate YJs and JKs and the TJs are getting harder to find I need an actual RC company to make 1 model of TJ. Plus, name all of the hardbody jeeps out there I can find three off the top of my head. Although a 85-86 Toyota or 4Runner.

I have axial plastic mirrors on a Toyota body and I have rolled over too many times to count and they are still intact.

How well does that work? I don't know a lot about their products.

R&D can't be that expensive for bodies. There are many bodies available that are getting 3D printed. I'd guess with modern tech, a couple grand could get a 1:1 copied/scaled and into the molding stage. Maybe if all their gear wasn't outsourced....

It's just not research and design that goes into it! Licensing is a issue as well! They have to get permission from the auto manufacturer to use the body!

The Axial mirrors are bombproof compared to what you get with a lot of hard bodies. Keeping a set of mirrors on some of the Tamiya bodies through more than a stiff breeze is an accomplishment.

It's the molds that cost the real money. Injection molding tech isn't cheap.

I have no idea about what they do now as I left in 2014.
I dont think there is much unreleased of my old stuff now.

I didn't do the drawing. But I spoon fed and directed the person that did in 2013. That was started with a rare old Monogram 1/18 scale Blazer model and lots of Google images!

You dont start any RC body project by scaling down a real one. It's much harder than that. It takes many hours of drawing/redrawing/checking to fool your eyes into thinking it looks the same.

Even Tamiya do not get their proportions right but close enough. I remember someone posting the differences between a real Tundra and the Tamiya one a few years ago...
