Just as way of an update. Absolutely skint now.....

Have purchased an SCX10 kit, a Toyzuki chassis, and a load of other shiny things "thumbs"

Hopefully they'll arrive over here before Christmas so i can have a build over the hols :-)...

Was a close call with the TRX-4 but in the end it was cost and the factor i don't like the C hub design on the portals.

Thanks all....

This seemed like a fair comparison of the trucks together.

Toyzuki chassis uses stock transfer case gears (with an extra shaft) and provides overdrive to the front axle if you want, or you can use the stock gearing setup. No need for GCM...

The additional shaft is very difficult to find. Super Shafty is the only place I know of to get them but there is probably a wait. He is going to have some made instead of buying from Axial.

Personally I'm dubious of the benefits of front axle overdrive, but I haven't driven a truck with it yet.

It definitely helps in turning and on steep climbs. My Toyzuki 10.2 will turn quite a bit tighter than my TRX-4 with the diffs unlocked.

The down sides are that its a bit harder on the drivetrain, ESC, and motor. Gearing down on the pinion/spur will help with the motor and ESC temps. Run time decreases a bit.

Overdrive is excellent when crawling and turning.... It's a bit trickier at sidesloping...

EDIT: Oops.. Meant this to Sparktek...
