It would be pretty cool if the skid and trans mounted up. We could use this drivetrain on scx10 based aftermarket chassis.

I've been working away on this new rig and all I can say about the new BOM so far is that it is a step ahead of Axial....it's like an SCX10.3!!! Well laid out, and very well designed. I'll start a build thread soon.

Super-nice job, my man!

And you replaced the only two things I dislike - the body and the rolling stock!

And - I suppose we now know what cabs are compatible - those designed for Axial Honcho cages, not those for Vaterra Ascenders.

I’m sticking with the stock body for now, I’ve still got a roof rack to add, so far I’m happy with the look. The stock rims are junk, so I put a set of D Holes straight on mine and I’ve got a set of Rock Beast Scale tyres in the post

Nice job bill. The first picture just reminded me one of our local classified online sale. The front looks just similar to this Toyota Hilux. Here are the pictures. Cheers

Yes tires were fugly. I love the body detail and it looks like Ford Ranger, I like it.

I can tell you one thing for sure, the counter-rotating front and rear driveshafts do not eliminate torque twist. A rear anti-roll bar is definitely needed and luckily Gmade has the mounts ready to go for one in the kit...they will be releasing the actual sway bars soon. In the mean time, I made my own and it helps a lot.

I'm trying to convince my son that "he" really wants this for his upcoming birthday, I think it has edged out the TRX4-Sport (we do already have 1 in the family) as my top choice for the next crawler on our shelf. His other car has slowly become more detailed/scale trail truck than crawler, and this looks to bring a good balance of scale features which he appreciates, without giving up too much durability or capability... one that he could really drive without fear of breaking. He's also been wanting to build a kit, but has been bouncing around ideas between just about every class of crawler there is, so we shall see.

Counter rotation help some? Theoretically should, until it lifts a tire and that’s going to happen. Nice they provide swaybar mounts with forthcoming kit. Picture of your creation?

Took mine out this morning, had a no fuss 1hr run, I did find it a little top heavy and it wants flip over on steep climb and descents, so I’ve ordered a set of SCX10ii SSD Pro knuckles and brass weights to try out, I’ll also stick a few weights in the fuel cell and test again Friday, I will say I’m pretty impressed with the tyres, with decent inserts and vented, I think they will do well in UK conditions
