| (HH) Tech Questions and Customer support thread
At Holmes Hobbies, our customer support is what built the business. We have been serving customers on RCC since 2005, but for best service please direct questions to our email as we cannot always reply to threads here. This thread is archived for a really long tech read! ..... This is a thread just to ask random questions about your order, any setup you have, what you are thinking about, or whatever may cross your mind. Ask away! 1. The 10t cobalt puller on 6 cell nimh would work fine on an xrs as long as you dont overgear or overweight the rig. Most 2.2s will be fine. 2. 7.2 volts is plenty 3. The Puller weighs 6.5 ounces, which is 3/8 of an ounce or about 11 grams. 1. I am not up to snuff on motor capacitors. I will research it. 3. The tekin 2 is good up to 10 cells, but the BEC goes weak after 8 cells. JRH

The 33's would be just fine. They can take quite a bit of abuse actually. If you wanted to use them in other vehicles like a fast basher or stadium truck you would want a larger ESC. For just crawling duties or 1/18th scale vehicles the 33 procar is perfect.

Right now the castle bec looks to be the best one. Any info on this unit by Quark? http://www.quarkbrushless.com/pro_acc.htm |

The quark BEC is $40 for 5v output at something like 5 amps out. Almost half the price, twice the power, the Castle BEC is the best out right now.

John while back thur pm's I was talking to you about m.m. and drag brake and I had told you I updated the software on my computer to the current version3.01 and you said to to go 1.07 I search all over c.c. website for the 1.07version and I could not find it. Also just wanted to make sure, but for a brushed motor what should the settings be just to get a base line? Then I tweak it from there. |

While filling out my profile on your site there is a "sign up for membership" option under username & password options. What is that? "Not member, Premium, Wholesale, sponsored" |

Brushed motor: no punch control 100% drag normal timing max startup power. Those are just different membership types for the site. I moderate those. Wholesale is reserved for other business to buy in bulk from the site, premium I don't use, etc.

It will be pushing it of course, and I wouldn't recommend it. You could probably get away with it though.

Hey John, Like the Q&A thread. And here's my question. Has there been anyone you know of that had problems with your Crawlmaster with an R2d trans. I'm looking at using this setup on my 2.2 build. Thanks. |
