JIA has hosted these templates on his site now.

Thanks JIA this should help clean out my mailbox now.

Thanks for all the intrest people!

I know other people have offered to host them before, but I am to the point now where it is hard to keep up with everyone.

Also, ALL of the templates are in that file: Servo mount, BTA servo mount, Clocked Motor plate.

Here is the mount I made with very limited tools here at Kunsan. I plan on fabbing up a new one when I get back home to LV. Thanks for the template!

What I started with

Finished and mounted in a K2-3S Chassis.

These mounts look great but am I am missing something...

Why don't you turn the motor mount slots thru 90 degrees to 1. get the mounting bolt out from behind the spur gear and 2. get a more positive adjustment onto the spur?

If you are hitting the tranny case, just grind a little off it.

Cheers, JK

For my situation,(being stationed in S.Korea and not at home with access to all my tools and supplies) it was easier just to get the 32p gears and use Harley's template. When I get home in December I will prolly be re-fabbing these mounts for mine and my sone K2-3S's. If the tranny works well enough I might even try and use it in the comp rig I am building.

Stock gearing I believe should work. On mine I could run a 96t spur and a 18t pinion. However I still changed it to 32p 72t spur and a 9t pinion. Much easier to get it to mesh especialy if you run a lathe motor.

Looks like there are some problems with JIA site right now. If anyone needs the WK plans feel free to send me a PM or an E-mail.

Its a larger diameter spur gear. So you shouldnt have to get the motor as close tothe tranny to get the gears to mesh. I went this route at the advice of others and it works well. Do a search in the forum and you will see a bunch of people running them.

JIA shut down his site, so the link is no good now (as of the last time I checked anyways).
I usually can get around to PM's just takes so long to go through all of them. The reason I didn't respond to yours was it didn't have an e-mail address in it. I was going to go to your profile and look for it but didn't have time at the moment.
Just make sure to include your e-mail address in your PM or actually e-mail me.

Post Stock Motor Mount Clocked

For my version of clocking the motor mount I just turned the stock one like 120 degrees until one of the screw holes lined up with the other next to it. Broke out the dremel and went to town on making it fit. I'm running a GD 600 so it made it easier to get clearance on the side of the transmission. Since the only thing that comes in contact with the transmission case is a medium size gear. So with this I was able to put the output and the motor much closer together for better driveline angles. And not to mention the motor isnt hanging half way out of the chassis.

Its not real pretty but its very functional.

Here is the ground up motor plate in the stock position

Here it is clocked 120*

Here is the side of the case where I had to clearance a little bit to get ther right mesh with running a 96t and a 12t.

Here it is installed on my Widow Chassis

I ended up making two brackets on the front to hold it and a zip tie on the rear to hold the motor down to a screw on the chassis.

So my gearing is a 12t to a 45t to a 12t to a 96t - total reduction before transmission and axles - 30:1
