Is it too much work to have a sportsman class the same day as 2.2 comp? I'm still trying to figure out this whole crawling thing |

I agree . Someone mentioned it only takes around 90 minutes for a comp , why not allow sportsman ? Be nice to have a class for new guys so they don`t have to compete with veterans and MOAs . Really don`t want to wait til the end of Feb. to run either . Like Erik`s case , his kids with stock Creepers[and new to crawling] are no competition with the rest .

Outside it takes 90 mins. (Well did last year, expect longer this year). Indoor comps with just 1 class can take 3+hrs because we can only run 1 driver at a time and people get distracted and it doesn't flow. There is nothing that says you can't run your sportsman truck in a "comp" comp or your non moa comp truck in sportsman (don't use dig)

I should have added, don't expect sportsman to be just beginners... we don't have enough turnout to have a beginner and pro division so we voted to allow anyone in. That being said, I've watch shafties and under experienced people beat the heck out of vets with moa. It all depends on the day, the course and the driver.

I really don't mind. I have no idea what I am doing anyways. Go over rocks. Don't touch the gates. Don't back up.

HAHAHA, I still remember that guy. Wheely king soaring over rocks like they were old junk cars. It doesn't take much rig to win indoor comps I'm absolutely horrible at indoor events. The loose rocks and tight area don't allow me to hold my line as well. Its not uncommon for the plain Axials to dominate. Were pretty newbie friendly. We've been known to help coach people through their first comp. Indoor comps are a great place to start as you get to see more trucks up close and talk with more people as space gets tight. |

First...tenth etc. I have to give most of the club credit, they really do well with new people. You will get line coaching, instructions, advice and only a little get made fun of... Stratcat is coming.... Ill bring crowd nets! Y2k, you've got the general idea. Keep going forward as best you can, miss the markers and dont fall off the rocks. Just remember its rock crawling not rock racing (see Stratcat above or Bjoe)

I'm planning on coming out with my Ax-10. Since iHobby I left Bigsquid, 4-linked the rear, got some Rovers, new body, and built a battery pack that fits on the front axle.

What do you typically bring to a comp? I'm used to off-road racing, so I have a TON of crap I am used to dragging to the track. Battery\charger box, Tool Box, spare parts box, tires etc... Do most just bring in the trucks\radios\batteries and that's it? I figure as it's a hobby shop they don't have pit tables or much room. |

That is a good question . I planned on bringing my truck, radio , small box of tools and a battery charger as I only have one battery so far . . |

From the looks of it , there will not be much room from moving the shelving for the course . Erik , I bought a power adapter that plugs right in the cig lighter in a car that will give 12V 10A for my battery charger . This way I don`t need to bring a power supply and can just charge my batts in car if needed . Ordered two more lipos from HK and should have them by Friday . |

I bring my truck, radio and hope the battery is charged. There is decent room, usually 2 tables setup but, not enough for everyone to bring huge box either. remember its an indoor course so its not all that hard on parts.
