Right so a Class 1 should have the following: Tube bed OR Flat Bed: metal -3, plastic -1 Interior cage or exo-cage: (-3 metal -1 Plastic) per row of seats protected. (Must have down bars and cross bars in front & behind each row.) • Hard body: full -8, Cab -4 or • Complete Custom built body: (metal or hard plastic, no lexan) full -4, Cab -2 (in addition to hard body points) Inner fender wells: -1 per pair • Bumpers : metal -3 each , plastic -1 each • Spare tire carrier (must be bumper mounted): -1 Exterior roof rack / light bar (may only choose one) • roof rack: metal: -2, plastic -1 • Roof top light bar : metal -1 • 3D interior: 2 seat -3, 4 seat -4, SUV cargo area -1. • 2D/half interior: 2 seat -1, 4 seat -2. • Realistic Scale Human figures: full(knees up) -2, part -1(torso up) (max 2 figures) [So the difference for the Dingo would be, with two figures, -4 vs -8] Suspension/Drive train/Steering: • Leaf springs (front/rear): -3 ea, -7 both. • Chassis mounted steering servo: -5 (front) • Transfer case: -4 Functional items (max -8 pts): • Tow strap, -D-ring, Pull Pal, sand ladder, hitch, Etc. -1 each • Headlights(2) and taillights(2) -2 • Winch -2 Each • Full size spare tire. -3 Realistic exterior items (max -6 pts): Items that are non functional but you would see on a trail truck • exhaust, jerry can, hubs on all wheels, steering stabilizer, disc/drum brakes on all wheels, mirrors(2), wipers(2), antenna, license plate, Fire extinguisher, trail tools (Hi-lift jack, etc.)first aid, Etc. -1 each |

ugh... it's gonna be hard to hit all those points w/out building a "trail specific" rig... especially w/the Parma lexon. I was really wanting to build more of a spec. truck.

| I fail to see how a spec. truck won't get tons of points. CMS and bumpers would be lots of points. Full interior would be quite a few points. If you use a transfer case, thats even more points. Add a roll cage, thats more points. Etc. Class 1 is basically street legal "trail ready" trucks. |

Well since I bombed my MMP and need to send it to Castle (ugh why won't they just come out with a good quality brushless waterproof ESC!!), I scavenged the Honcho while waiting on John to come back from his honeymoon so I can get another BRXL... Anyways, here is what I've worked up for my electronics and the case I'm putting them in where the battery would normally go on the Wraith. Using WarTrader's tube connector idea, except I'm going to seal it with silicon, I've run through wires for the ESC, the BEC, the servo and the winch. I added a servo plug to the BEC so I can plug it in and keep the BEC along with the receiver inside the case all nice and dry (and in a balloon too). Now I can unplug stuff without having to open the sealed case. To attach it, I just cut out a lexan plate (0.08 thickness) that I'll screw in the same positions as the battery mount. On the plate and the box is the heavy duty lock velcro. Same thing is going to hold the ESC onto the end of the box. Should hold, I hope! Otherwise, I'll have to wrap a velcro strap around the case and lexan mount, and then screw on a velcro strap to double secure the ESC. When I finally get my light set (grr) I'll add another water connector to the other side and run the light wires out through it. So just gotta hit the auto supply store and pickup some dielectric grease grease to use to do the final seal when I screw down the top, then it should be all good too rock-n-roll. Suppose I should start a build thread... LOL! |

I know what you mean but I was thinking something a little more. .. subtle. No roll cage, or tubing... might as well do a class 3. I can see a metal flatbed, transfer case, cms, head/tail lights and leaf springs. |

Wow, are people weird on what? In the first line of my classifieds it says "Only trade I would consider would be for a Unimog Project." and the first guy sends me "would you consider a flip mino hd video camera and an ipod touch trade?".

Who's running a ON/OFF switch on their ESC? It'll make things easier for me if I eliminate it and just Plug/Unplug the Lipo for my on/off control. If I understand correctly, I simply need to solder the black/red wires together? |

| BRXLs don't have an on/off switch, so I'm not. And yeah, should just be able to do that.

The on/off switch on my Mamba Max totally fell off so I just soldered a wire to accross the 2 contacts to make a bridge then covered it with hot glue.

It's got a ways to go... I just used what I had on hand. It's sitting at 13" but I think it'll end up at 14.5". I'll most likely loose the VP dig too. |

this dig was supposed to go in Buxom Melons before this weekend but the Summit trans wouldn't fit in the Rock Rider.
