Went to the woods today. After getting my Wraith all put together, I discovered 2 things wrong. Worn bearing in the tranny allowing the shaft to slop around, so I am ordering a new case and new bearings. Also the 2 Savox servos are drawing more then the BEC can provide, So I am going to step up to a 20A BEC and switch to a dig I think. It is ridiculous how hard it is to find damn parts for these things. Anyway, here are some shots of the site by my house. We can run right out of the back of our cars here. One entrance Log Bridge |

He ain't coming out here, he has made that clear. You guys are welcome anytime. I got about 30 mins in today before I blew out the bearings in the tranny on the Wraith. Now I found a new case and all new bearings, the gears are all hardened steel as are the outputs. I tried to find a dig but no one has any. The Taco did great. |

No this is funny (and sad). I was working on the Wraith today, putting together my tranny rebuild parts list and decided to look at my steering setup as is has been real slow. I was thinking that the 10A BEC wasn't enough. But as I dug in, I discovered that I had put a servo in the front that was supposed to run on 7.4VDC and at 6VDC it only had about 220 oz/in of torque, barely enough for a Hilux. So I am going to pull the rear steer, bump the BEC to 7.4 and move the rear steer which is 277 oz/in to my Hilux and the 168 oz/in fast one to the TT.

There is a lot of large rocks. I only walked the first couple hundred yards, plenty to do there till my tranny blew. I walked up on a bluff overlooking the ravine, probably 25 to 35 feet deep at that point and it goes on a ways. Some nice long climbs and some tough log sections that we can use as bridges.

Axial's Wraith dig is $38.99, Vanquish's is $98.99. Go figure. By the way, I have a set of black VP Wraith Chubs, black VP Wraith knuckles and home made drag link Nd steering link with the wraith steering plate for sale if anyone wants to try 4WS. |
