| Re: NIRC. Chit Chat
So last night I worked on the JK some. I installed the double deuce foams. I need to trim the inside of them I think. My stick on wheel weights stretched them too much and they fill the pitbulls too much. They feel like a tire on my 1:1 that's completely full, LOL. I also decided to ditch my GCM forward motor mount and transfer case. I'm tired of dealing with the extra parts to maintain. Now I've got one less driveshaft and no transfer case to keep lubed up. I was also having trouble keeping the set screws on the gears in the transfer case tight. I put some red threadlock on them last time I had it apart which should fix that but I think I'd just rather eliminate it all together. It's fewer scale points but oh well. I'm not as motivated as I used to be to work on my rigs (Johnny can relate) so this will help me keep it running easier. When I moved the tranny back to the skid plate I went ahead and put the beefy motor plate on it from supershafty which was the last piece to make that tranny "bomb proof". This also allows me to put the electronics box back in to hide some stuff. I hate seeing all those wires and shit. This will help me clean it up. Another item I'm trying out are the 100mm RC4WD king shocks. We'll see how they do. The part that I like is that the springs are really soft so it droops a lot. I can run the rig nice and low but the articulation is increased because they're quite a bit longer than the axial shocks I've been running. The axles drop a ton when they need to. We'll see if they hold oil. They look nice anyway! Okay that is all. Go back to what you were doing. Thank you. |

Oh and whoever put that last tag about sarrt8 should remove it. That's unnecessary. We know who it was...just delete it. No need to be hateful.

Yeah.. S ARR T8 is a good guy. He don't bother nobody. I think the person that put it on there doesn't come in here very often. Chris doesn't come in here very often for that matter so, I don't think he gives a shit one way or another. Trey, I turned my foams inside out and hit them on the bench grinder to create room for weights, then flipped them back around and they went together nice and kept the same outside diameter as intended. Worked out well. Last edited by Die-Laughing; 10-22-2013 at 07:42 AM. |

| Re: NIRC. Chit Chat I think they have their place...like on my C1 chevy where I don't have the room in the center of the rig because of the interior and where I'm going for super scale. I'd just prefer not to mess with it on my JK. It's just extra moving parts that could potentially fail. That rig isn't super scale anyway, hell I still run the standard axial lexan body on it.

Ooh ohh, guess what! Just ordered one of the TZI winches and rear mounting brackets for it. I'll make some of those scale points up with a rear winch!

I have busted that transfer shaft more than once. I would just rather have my rig perform. I am always trying to jump stuff or pop wheelies. I do have one transfer case rig. Scrambler but it's kinda a shelf queen now.

S ARR T 8 has shown his true colors time and time again in Chit Chat. He is not a good guy. He is a racist, narrow minded, illiterate bigot. I had overlooked his post for years because I liked him the few times we ran together. But then he called me a beaner... fuk him. Oh, and the tag is meant to be ironic because he started this thread: why is jremeyh such a prick
