What the heck is a dirtjump park? There is a pretty nice OHV park off 218 allong the river but it's mostly dirt. They have a MX track. I think accross the road there may be some 1:1 trails, but that may need ot be confirmed by a local.

Big and scary up there in CF.
I have been to that ohv park before too. Also have been on those illegal 1:1 trailes as well, but that was about 8-9 years ago.

Here are some pics of what I was working on. Old turn of the century farm house. Replaced the windows and siding. When it warms up I also am installing new soffit and roof. I really like the HO choice of colors.

I've been catching a lot of live music lately. Avenged Sevenfold, Puddle of Mudd and Theory of a Deadman next week.

The "grump" kicked me out so my crawling has been postponed. I have been working on making knuckle packs out of my old 18T race packs. Still haven't decided on a body for the AX, acquired a Wheely King and Sinastair X-51 chassis. I hope to have a R2Disco in the WK and everything ready for the 2.2 Challenge at Fastlane, KC in March. Anyone else interested in going?? I don't see the need to display my lack of driving skills yet and I'll probably watch and take pix.

The kids love the WK all alone, without crawler upgrades!! It will be hard to switch that stuff out, but they are natrual drivers. It's uncanny, they just drive along. They don't have to stop and think about it like Dad does...

I have totally given up on the Raptor axles. If anyone knows someone who runs pullers or has a use for them send them my direction.

Welcome, MWRCA kind of covers the whole are. When we started there wasn't enough peole around here that were into crawlers. So we Started a midwest club with the IL and WI guys.
If you want to crawl with people get a hold of Bart Bender or me.

Maybe we need a local club. Bad thing is many of the Iowa crawlers don't live in CR or IC. MWRCA has fizzled out this year. Maybe we can have some MWRCA Comps in '09 so whoever wants to get invited to Nats can. How about CRANDIC Crawlers for the local guys. I think we need a State wide club and just meet here (on RCC) or a club sight for meetings.

I am getting a little bored with the crawler thing at the moment and really think it is time to build a new truck. I for some reason really want to build a scale tow rig and trailer. Who all has scaler experience that can give a little advice as far as chassis and stuff? I have a steel frame a guy had started to make as a replacement ax10 frame i am thinking about using, haven't really sized it up to a crew cab newer chevy body. any advice?

My 1/8 CJ5 is all custom steel and aluminum. The frame is 1/2" sqaure tubing ripped in half for fram rails. Get safety silv 56 and a MAPP gas cylinder and let the games begin.

Also check out www.scale4x4rc.org for inspiration also. There are some talented folks over there.

The flood didn't do much for crawling. From here to St Louis got hit pretty hard. It really put a crimp along with the gas prices!!

What is that an old water heater tank? I started building me one for my quad about three years ago. 3/16 thick old fuel oil barrel cut down. It's still leaning against my garage wall. Hell the cutting edge has been bouncing around in the back of my service truck since last winter. It's just too easy to take home one of our tonners to plow the drive. The quad would have been worthless last year anyway.
