| Bart's new beater, CD 3.0
There are going to be too many extensive mods to make these axles fit Corn Dog 2.0. So I am going to start another build. Projected finish date maybe this time next year, so be patient as always. These axles; Will fit kinda like this That's a crazy shaft angle, but the Revo shafts will handle it. |

Yah, same front and rear. You know what, it may very well have to be 3 link. That shaft is right in the middle of everything. Anybody no where I can get a 90 degree gear box with motor sized shafts ?

Got some new Cen Racing shafts the other day. Save your money if anyone is planning on getting these. $70 worth for two shafts. Very limited angles with these too. Not saying they're not good shafts, but the Revo's are still the best shaft for the money. |

If you don't care, take the joint apart and snap me a picture of the inside of the joint area. That could probably be easily opened up on a lathe for more angle. Not sure how much materials there and if it'll still be strong enough though. Just a thought....

Four crappy pics. You could open them up but you would have to machine the slots in the ball joint to let the pin swing farther too. The ID actually is curved like the ball. Might be a trick to machine. This is as far as this pin swings. You want them Steve? I don't think I will even use them. |

| Sorry Bart, just noticed this. I'm not really needing shafts at the moment. Wouldn't mind taking a closer look at them to see what a guy might do with them. Have you done anything new yet? I'm wanting to build some housings like these for the next build, looks great. Moab XL's kinda gives it away don't you think??? |

I would say they would be perfect candidates for disco's. No nothing new yet. Just been enjoying my FX-R in CD2. Man is that an AWSOME esc. I did decide on a chassis design. It's similar to my CD2 chassis, but with boat sides. This will help my shaft angle in keeping to one side and not being centered like the chassis shown, sorry Chump. I still would like to find a 90 degree gear box to set the motor perpendicular to the outputs. This will eliminate torque twist and maybe even put more force on the front axle. I will also be narrowing some Aftershock's and increasing their diameter. I'm not really looking forward to this though. |

| Not positive it would eliminate torque twist. Your still gonna have the rotation of the drivetrain. Might help though. An idea I had....among all the others, was to use an Emaxx diff. Build an adapter to mount a spur on the output(pinion). I turned a few down on a lathe at work, but never got around to actually trying it. To many things going on. The way it looked, just eyeballing things,it might be kinda tight or tricky getting the motor/pinion close enought to the spur. I'd say it's doable though with the right gear combo. I'll dig the adapters up....if I can find them. If you want them,I'll send them to ya to try.

MAKKEM has a couple Revo diffs. Mount a spur on the pinion and then drive it with the motor. Then mount a pinion on an output to drive the trany spur. Hmmm

Put the spur on the pinion of the Maxx/Revo diff. That spur is driven by the motor. The outputs on the diff, the ones that typically turn the axles that run to each tire.....mount your Revo driveshafts to them that run to each axle. You'll be using the Maxx/Revo diff AS YOUR TRANNY There's pleanty of gear down so no other tranny is needed. 72t spur, say a 15t pinion.....4.8 reduction. My 14r is running 81/18......4.5 reduction.

I gotcha Steve. I was still trying to drive the Twin trany. Your set up would put my shafts right on the far outside of the chassis just like my CD2 rig. Any idea what those Revo diff ratios are. I think I'm gonna play with this idea Quote:

Revo diff ratio 37/13 ~2.85:1 but whats the gain of the perpendicular mounted motor ? |

This truck is going to be so fast that while in the air it will help keep it level for better landings, like a MotoX bike. Just another crazy idea in this nut ball brain of mine. |

With a 2.8 ratio in the diff....soon to be tranny while running a 72/18 pinion and spur with a 3.3 gear in your axles, your final gear ratio will be 36.9:1 I'm running 38:1 in my 14r/super. If you can put a 3 cell to that 10t cobalt on that gear ratio,it'll scoot pretty good. It'll still crawl really well also.

SSSHHHHHHH! Damn Steve, we need to feed them a little cheese before we snap their heads off in a trap. Yah that is the goal with the 3S and 10T. Not sure if I need it THAT fast. Would be pretty fun though. I'm gonna shoot for 15-15 1/2" WB. Those 16 1/2- 17" rigs go up just not over real well. Plus the shorter WB will help my turning radius since the axles diff placement will restrict the tire angle. |
