I'll get better pics tonight so you can see it better. I'll take one compressed and fully extended as well as a flex shot. I'm thinking of doing the rear normal (on the axle), since it wouldn't really be seen on a 1:1 anyway, not that you'd see the steering on a 1:1 either. | |

| Pictures of the steering
Here is how it sits at the moment. I went with 4, 4" shocks in the rear for helping with the trailer when there is a load on it. I'm going to make it a cotter pin set up (instead of nuts, maybe) so I can take out the shocks when I want to crawl, same with the front. 4 of the long shocks in the front for looks. Just wish they were all the same color. oh well I'll work with what I have. Detailed pics of the steering system as well. sorry about the crappy pic. don't know what happened. that white stuff is delrin shavings (dust) from working on my VS skids and all. |

Do you have a clearer picture of the arm that steers the wheels? I know that sounds like a retard asking the question, but I cannot think of the word... It looks like either a bent tube or ??

I don't have a pic but will take one for tomorrow. But to explain. I used 3/16" brake line for the rod, Cut the TLT dog bones in half and brazed it to the 3/16". CA glued the TLT output shaft to the servo horn. ON the lower part I brazed a cut piece of washer (about an 1/8" thick) drilled a 1/8" hole on the end, ground it down to look nice and neet. used a couple lock washers brazed to the brake line, plus a cupped thing (black deal in the pic) and a washer to keep it from sliding out. It moves well. I just need to "real world" test it. I'm hoping soon. I have the rear just about ready to put on made the part to hold the servo on to the axles since I can't use the stock brace that comes on the axles. Maybe by this weekend. After I get all the other projects to a decent speed I'll start on the Trailer. It will be for sale as a RTR w/ a Big *** goose neck. $850 for both. I need to get my 1:1 up and pay some bills off. If you get it now you can choose the PC color for the frame. I'm going for a true fire paint job on the truck. so the frame was going to be red or black. |

I'm also debating on if I want to put the gas and step stuff that goes under the truck or not. ?? I kinda like the way it looks without it. but Not sure.

Hurry up and get it together. I want to know how that steering is going to work. Thats a very scale way of doing it. Nice touch.

OK I got it kinda running. I basically slaped it on quickly to test the front steering and see if I thought what would happen when the motors took off. My steering didn't work. But it is an easy fix. Basically the hole is to large that I pass the rod through, so instead of turning the wheels it moves the shaft around the hole. I'll do one of two things to fix it. 1. make a new plate with a 1/4" hole in it that is about 1/2" long (oval). 2. same as one but add a yoke to the system near the axles so I can have the hole and the shaft will intersect it vertically instead of at and angle. The other problem is "torque twist" kinda. basically the axles twist the leafs so I'll add a middle link to keep it from rolling. Here are the other pics of the front steering. |

Awesome! I have been toying around with doing something right along those lines for a scaler steering setup.
