"Vas is das?" A German soldier looked up from his bottle of brandy and spotted a fast moving fighter plane in the western sky. Still drunk from the all-night party he laughed to his fellow gunner that he bet he could knock it out of the air with one shot. Standing next to the 88mm anti-aircraft gun he flippantly spun the handle thereby moving the gun barrel to the right and then gave the elevation knob a couple of drunken spins. He craned his head left, peering over his left shoulder with bloodshot eyes as he stepped on the firing mechanism with the sole of his boot. "Ka-WHOOOOM !" The shell launched upwards into the sky towards the fast mover. The pair of drunken solders watched as a slow realization set in that the shell was headed on a perfect & direct intercept course for the fighter plane. Exploding just in front of the fighter the soldiers could see a thin black trail of smoke coming from the plane as it zoomed out of sight to the east. Stunned for a moment they both stood there staring at each other with their mouths hanging open... then broke into cheering. Last edited by Fumbles; 08-18-2013 at 09:26 PM. |

The AA shell had rocked the front end of my Spitfire. Shrapnel had ripped a hole in my motor and I was losing oil pressure fast. It was only a matter of moments until the V-12 Merlin motor would seize up. I cranked back the canopy, trimmed the aircraft full nose down, undid my harness, pulled my feet up to me as tight as I could and let go of the stick. It was violent, very violent. I was tossed out of the cockpit into the sky, all I could hear was the wind ripping at me as I tumbled earthward. My 'chute opened with a jolt and I rode it into the ground with a THUD. Gathering up my parachute and stuffing it into a nearby hole I peek over the edge of a bomb crater to get my bearings. |

I need to make it to cover fast. Grabbing my satchel I jump up from the hole and run for the forest. Along the way I find a soldier who had lost the fight and grab his gear too. Thanks fella - I'll remember this. I need transportation. Just something to get me moving. Wheels... I need wheels ! Making my way quietly through the forest I come to a clearing and spot an old barn. Maybe I can find something useful in that place... better go check it out. I come upon a pile of junk, looks like there might be something useful in this place after all. I try the door... it's open. I peer inside, ready for the Tommy Gun to do my talkin'. Last edited by Fumbles; 08-17-2013 at 07:34 AM. |

I spot a workshop, might be something in here that I can make into a good set of wheels, something that can get me out from behind enemy lines. Getting bold I decide to climb up on the workbench to see what is up there. Last edited by Fumbles; 08-14-2013 at 09:27 PM. |

I think it's a 21st Century Jeep - I'll have to look at it when I wake up. Just like the Army... hurry up and wait. I'll be sleeping until Sunday...

Love these storyline build threads. And the fact that it is a 1/6 Jeep is even better. |

After getting a well deserved rest I got up and decided to clean off an area to work. Tossed some tires out off the bench onto the floor and swept stuff out of the way. Found a decent set of tires that I think will work and rolled of them off to the side. Last edited by Fumbles; 08-19-2013 at 01:15 PM. |

Grabbed some rope and pulled the Jeep out from the dusty corner. Got to work removing the soft top. No time for a leisure cruise, get that fancy stuff out of the way. Last edited by Fumbles; 08-19-2013 at 01:38 PM. |
