Yeah Baby

I figured I needed 36'' of brake line

Re-did all the links a 1/4'' longer

So that put around 38''

I did not count for the Dremel Metal Diamond blade

Yeah Baby cause out 40'' of brake line I got 3/4'' of it left

And I made my floating drive shafts

Bench tested the drive shafts

And sleeved all the links with the brake line

that have a green tint, I like it

Today was another first for Me

I mixed my own paint

I made a Batch of OD Green paint

And painted the loop and mounts green

And glazed in the hinges holes

There not perfect but good enough for a Crawler

Painted the windshield pillar flat white

I will mix some OD Green

And touch up some spots

And it needs a second coat of the white

I think I nailed the OD Green

It looks pretty danm close to Humvee body

I tried to make

Some fuel cells similar too the ones I made for My Wraiths

I made 2 for the Humvee out of Styrene and they are hollow and they are 3 3/8'' long x 2 '' wide x 1''

I had to order some of the 2mm self tapping screw like the ones

You use to mount the body panels on a Old School Wraith

So when I get the screws I can make straps out of tie wraps

And screw them on too the fuel cells

Do any of you other Large Scale Builders

Need a fuel cell ??

I made one that is 4 5/8'' long X 1 1/2'' wide X 3/4'' high

I ran out of gloss red paint, its not exactly square and the curves are ruff

Cause I tried to heat the Styrene and bend it, but it kind got melted but its not bad

I don't need it

And if some one wants

I will mail it too them

I bought some new soft Tie Wraps

And didn't need screws to mount the straps

On the Fuel Cells, I used the new soft tie

And some Super Glue

They look pretty dam good for being homemade

And never working with Styrene

Going to shoot some clear over them

I put a couple coats of fast drying clear coat

On the Fuel Cells and I love how the reds pops now

And how shiny the black straps got

Those Fuel Cells look bad ass in the bed of the Humvee

Just need some 2 faced tape

Too stick them too the bed

They turned out well, you might be able to run a screw through the bottom of the bed up into the fuel cells, that way if you decide to change it up later, you're not having to remove tape residue from the body.

...I'd just use hot glue/glue gun

is what holds my dog's paws in place
as well as my MFC's.

comes off fairly easy... without marring the paint.
and breaks free fairly easily, by hand, if wanted.

Only takes a few glue droplets for hold.

Neither my dog or the MFC's have come loose
after more then a few hard tumbles down a rocky slope.
Even impacts have not jarred them loose.

I do recommend prepping/cleaning the surface with rubbing alcohol or like
prior to adhering the pieces with hot glue.

Don't own a hot glue gun, My Mom had one years ago, and she burned herself with hot glue, evert time she used it, I remember burning myself trying it out.

I don't think I would use it enough to want to buy one

Getting closer

I made my battery/Esc/Receiver mount

I need to make the 2 motor wires longer

I had to use pieces of 2 sided tape on the mounting screws for the battery plate

Cause the screws in the battery plate are not flush, I don't have a counter sink bit, I used a 1/2 bit, the screws are counter sunk but not enough

I like how with the battery in the chassis

It preloads the suspension and compresses the front tires a little

I might need to go with stiffer springs in the front

I got extra Wraith springs around here some where

need to look

I'm going to extend the motor wires

And maybe Crawl Er around my yard tomorrow

Yeah Baby

Yeah Baby

I found my Wraith Springs, I them bought years ago and never used them

There Integy Wraith springs, the Reds one are Soft, the Blue ones are Medium, and the Orange one are stiff

I'm going with the Orange ones

I also found my 13 gauge Castle Motor wire and my shrink tubing

Going to get er done

Right now

Its Alive

I drove it up and down my carpeted hallway

Out to the My kitchen floor which is hard wood

And I did some donuts and couple power slides

You can see the end of mount and there is space between it and the body

Plus the hood on the Humvee is vented and the Axial AE2 I'm using now is under the vent

So it should get some ventilation when the its moving, if not I could mount a small PC fan

On the inside of the hood and power it thru the receiver

Tomorrow might run it on my little garden

I want to go see the My Nieces Parson Russell's, they were born in December

And they are very entertaining and love too attack you first with kisses and then the start biting cause they want you to play with them

I switched out the Orange springs cause the seem too stiff even with out any preload adding preload would make them even stiffer

I put on the Blue springs and gave each shock 3 turns of preload and it that was enough to put a little tension on the springs

Cause with the Orange springs and the battery in chassis and no preload, there still way too stiff, unless the soften up after crawling a few times

The Blue one are not as stiff and can put more preload if needed

If the Blue ones get too I try the Orange ones again

I guess Taco

Can't read

I ran it down my carpeted hallway

And did power slides on my hardwood floor in my kitchen

The body weights 2bls 7ozs, and I'm only adding a spare tire and its mount

And maybe, not sure the 5 gallon gas cans, I might not cause, I got the fuel cells I made

I just need to take my time and figure out the layout too cut in the bed

And I have recut the front so it drops down on the chassis

Then slot the center console for spur gear and slipper clutch

and once the body drops on the chassis, I can make some sliders

I could buy some 26 gauge plate and make some sliders like the ones on my

SCX10 Honcho that bolts to the frame using the skid plate holes, and wraps the outside of the body

I'm not going to use the skid plate holes, I will make separate mountings holes

So I can take sliders off separately, and then skid plate if needed not like

My Honcho the sliders and skid plate and pain in ass cause its hard to line everything up

And get the all the bolts started and every thing squared up

Tarzan Know

Where Tarzan Go

Tarzan King Of Jungle

It took Me, awhile to find this old RC4WD aluminum link

That I cut a little off each side with my Dremel and was able to make it 91mm long

I then used it in between the rear shock loops as spacer

So I could mount the other too links too stiffen up and eliminate the flex in the chassis

And of course this was after I ordered 2 new 91 mm links

Today

so Win some

You Lose some

Know I can work on the body fitting on the chassis

I got my Chassis painted

I used primer and then flat black

Then I shot a couple coats of flat clear

So if it get scratched, it should not go all way to bare metal

I like it, it came out good for using rattle cans and taking forever for the coats too dry

I got my Esc, Receiver, and No brainer BEC installed

Getting even closer

Can't wait to see a thrasher video
marring up yer bling purdy !?

You should pony up for a HH's "Y" adapter
if you don't have one or don't feel like making one.

Just installed those into both my rigs...
well worth it... and maybe 5 seconds to install.

The ESC's internal BEC powers the RX needs
and the servo is powered directly by the external BEC/batt
by-passing the RX.

^ lessens the chance of RX brown outs/glitches
and if the external BEC is adjustable...
can be adjusted to any servo's power needs
with less effort/time spent.

Also opened two input slots on my 3ch RX, for aux. use.
Only RX plug in leads are at the Servo and ESC ports.
Heck I think HH's also offers a three way adapter
that includes an additional/external aux. plug that
is powered off the external BEC.

Tho' I didn't purchase the later...
so I really don't know much about it.

You won't regret obtaining/utilizing the HH's "Y" adapter.
Promise

I got No Brainer BEC's that is non adjustable and set at 6volts and use High Torque Servo's

I have had one of the No Brainer BEC's on both my Wraiths and both SCX10's and have had no problems

I also have one Castle adjustable BEC

That you can use the Castle Link on, but have not really used it much or made any adjustments

I switched to High Torque servo's after I bought my first used SCX10, the servo was going out, the previous owner threw in a new high torque

And I installed the No Brainer BEC and High Torque Servo and I could immediately tell the difference and been using high torque servo's and BEC's every since

And I have not had any problems, except a bad AE2 that KCRC exchanged for me and still have it and a spare
