Wheels are ordered! Less offset to accommodate the Mickey Thompsons, but significantly more than the stock wheels. Pics will come! I promise. Sent from my Nexus 4 Last edited by Lka1988; 04-20-2014 at 11:27 AM. |

I drilled out the mount holes on the servo itself, but otherwise no mods. It's a sweet little unit, pretty expensive as far as micro servos go, though, over $30. Probably cause it's digital. Worth every penny. Sent from my Nexus 4 Last edited by Lka1988; 04-20-2014 at 09:23 PM. |

Here's the info link for it. I bought mine from a local hobby shop. http://www.savoxusa.com/Savox_SH0256.../savsh0256.htm Sent from my Nexus 4 |

LiPo battery is installed and running with mini JST plugs. Power comes courtesy of a Zippy Flightmax 350 mAh battery, mounted (read: taped) onto the rear-steer servo. Battery charge is supplied by a Turnigy Accucell-6, powered by my Jeep XJ (so far). This thing. Is. UNSTOPPABLE. It tackled a steep pile of clean laundry like it was nothing. Powered over my wife's favorite books (shh) as if they were mere speed bumps. The motor and ESC do get pretty warm, though, so I've been going easy on it. Latest questions! 1. Where/How do you guys mount the battery with a rear-steer setup? The truck seems to have a relatively high center of gravity when mounted in the cab/chassis, even with the stretched wheelbase and widened track (shaft extensions). Any suggestions? 2. What would be a good charge rate for the 350 mAh Zippy batteries? The charger defaulted to 6.0A, but the electrical engineer student in me knew that was way too much current for a tiny battery. I found that these are rated at 2C max, but I'm still a bit fuzzy on this stuff. I ended up charging the batteries at 0.5A, which I think is between 1C and 2C (if I did the math right). 3. Does anyone know the Accucell-6 really well? I managed to make my way through the menu system and charge the battery correctly, but there's a lot of goodies on this thing that I need to be educated on. Got some pics! They aren't the ones I hoped for, but it's an update nonetheless. Fried the stock ESC/RX. It was only a matter of time. |

UPDATE My new FlySky GT3B has been delivered, hacked, and is now ready to go! I'm just waiting on the ESC to be delivered, hopefully tomorrow. Last edited by Lka1988; 05-13-2014 at 10:33 AM. |

Slight hiccup... When the stock ESC burned up, it took my precious 90-turn motor with it. Ah well, such is life. I'll be sending the motor back to Danally for a re-wind soon. I've got the stock motor installed so I can still play with it in the meantime. |
