Alright Jim, I'm not ready to buy anything just yet, just curious if it physically would work.

No worries. I drew it up last night and will cut and build it in the coming days.

I've been following your videos on YouTube, and I really like that semi truck frame. I'll have to see if something like that might work for my 1/20 scale Peterbilt.

I've got the short frame parts cut out. I will get it assembled and photographed soon. I had a bit of a distraction. I wanted to try a completely different method of independent tandem axle articulation. I'm exploiting the flexibility of Delrin. I don't know if there will be wear issues. The parallelogram works awesomely there is no axle wrap. So the lower link holes are used for the shocks. I will have to remove the old shock mounts in order to clock the axles so the pass through is better aligned. Overall I'm pleased with it. If it is durable enough I will sell kits. |

So Jim, I'm wondering if there's going to be a build thread for this Semi-Truck you're building. I'd love to see what kit your using, and what direction you go with it. I also love that ford I'm seeing in the background of your YouTube videos!

Yes I will be documenting the builds. Right now I'm working out the issues with the semi frame. |

Thanks krazyglu! I made some progress on the Peterbuilt frame. I changed the front to use the same four link system as the rear. It's working well. I also changed the frame so it can accept two transmissions. Then I took out the second transmission to see what a single motor would do. Then I made a rear drive shaft, wired it up and ran it on The Rock to abuse it. Admittedly it's still light but it climbs very well. The wheels have no added weight, and the tires aren't glued on yet. Here's what it did. Youtube video! |

I would love to try one of your chassis out on an upcoming build, but I have one concern. Your chassis appears to be slightly narrower than a stock chassis, is this true? If so, I don't believe it will accommodate one of Danally's big block stroker motors, which is what I prefer to run in my rigs. Is it possible to widen the chassis, or modify it to fit the larger motor? I would love to know.

Thanks Mike! Rob, yes the chassis rail width is set by the axles connecting points. This means they are .125" closer together compared to the stock frame. I could make an opening for the motor, but I will need specs on the motor and motor mount to do it. I could widen the frame rails by putting the spacers on the axle mounts and take them off of the transmission mounts. The rear dually tires can barely rub the chassis rails at full articulation though it's not too bad. Will the stroker kit fit inside the normal frame spacing? Anythings possible, and I am not too busy to try to make something cool. |

I've made some changes to the 34 Ford four link chassis. Renamed it the Short Nose version. Here is the longer four link chassis version. I'm also using it for a Bronco build. |
